Dry river beds out west are a good collection site too. The floods wash out shrubs along the edges leaving those roots nicely excavated whole. I found honey suckle (invasive plant) works really well and has nice twisty roots. My snails love grazing the bark as it breaks down. 2 plus years submerged and still holding strong on 3/8 inch diameter root
Great point about pinning the pieces together! Actually, Any of the JB Weld epoxies will safely work in an aquarium. I prefer the old Original JB Weld, black, white, 2 part mix is grey. Parts must be dry, follow instructions, GOOD stuff! So any paint suggestions to hide/ blend the joint? (I have my own.)
Just use loctite super glue gel and cover it with fluval stratum on the outside.... Spray and seed. It's amazing. The moss glue works with the volcanic soil too, or java moss which is quick n easy 🤦 sorry I'm a nerd
Speaking of the "my aquarium box" why isn't there an option to rotate the boxes out...like one month I get cichlids, the next I get planted, the next I get fresh water etc...or would that be to complicated to keep up with everyone custom ordering boxes like that?
@@gregjonesonline yes..the last time I did that it said thanks for your subscription etc and charged me immediately for another box..so I was charged for 2 boxes in the same month..does that have to do with altering my subscription or is it bc of when I started it again...is there a certain day of the month that y'all hit up the banks..lol
@@laceytopmiller794 you can email us a myaquariumboxhelp@gmail.com to work out the details, if you created a second subscription you would get charged twice and get 2 boxes, if you log in and modify the subscription it changes the type of box

can i just bake the root in an oven instead of waiting a whole year?
Rack is looking good. Good tutorial on wood. Thanks Greg
"The stand is painted, but we're going to save that for another day"
But I wanted to have a relaxing evening to watch the paint dry!

Its not drift wood unless it's drifted around in a lake or ocean until it's getting smoothed by the sand.

You can log in and change your subscription type as often as you'd like

We don't have stump dumps here in the low desert. Fire hazard and our landscaping doesn't usually require it.
