  • FARANTAMBA is a Nianthio animist warrior from Gabou. A ruthless and fierce man in the face of the enemies of Gabou.
    There is a passage in the book of Djibril Tamsir niane Where his name is mentioned:
    "The story of the marabout of Faramba Tamba de Kabendou has remained famous. This nianthio had this dialogue with a marabout:
    "Is it true, Sieur Marabout, that you have a gris-gris which protects you and makes you invulnerable to the iron?" Is this really true?
    - Yes, Lord Faramba Tamba.
    - Is it really true that you are invulnerable?
    - Yes Lord, I am protected, the iron does not penetrate me.
    - So it's true that the marabouts are stronger than our saboutiyolou from Gabou. So you are invulnerable.
    - Yes Lord, iron does not penetrate my body. "
    20Then, Faramba Tamba gets up and plunges his sword into the belly of the marabout [5]

    Hey that Gibbril Tafsirr njang cannot write authentic history of our kabou

    • @zecculture
      @zecculture  2 года назад

      He did . He went all the way to Kaabu to do research and he was very fair in his writings . He is the one who wrote the Epic of Sunjata Keita too.

      @@zecculture no way my brother he did not
      Few days ago I was watching a senegalese historian who was badly narrating the history of mandin and kabou
      He said after the kansala fight Mandinkas begin to migrate from kabou to casamance and the Gambia, what a big fat lie!!! How comes a wollof narrating the history of mandin and kabou???

      @@sambasanyang2048 Well at least try to read the book first and decide if he did justice to the history or not. Even some fulas didn’t like the way he wrote the history because it doesn’t favor their version . But Djibril Tamsir is a historian , he doesn’t care about tribal ego . And yes many mandinka emigrated after the fall of Kansala, that doesn’t mean that there were no mandinka in casamance and Gambia . Pakao and many province of Gambia were part of Kaabu . And after the fall kansala , many more migrated to the casamance , pakao and other province of Gambia . That’s why today you have many sanneh manneh, sanyang and Bojang among the jolas of Fonyi casamance and Gambia .
      History is everyone who is interested in it , it doesn’t matter what tribe you belong to , you can study history and be able to tell it .
