I watched your drop down cockpit video around a year ago and it inspired me to built a variation of my own. I had always been very interested in such mechanisms but seeing yours was the reason I built my own. You have an amazing channel. Thank you.
There is a sphere in set 6713, Race theme, I haven’t sold any of my LEGO… but this project sounds neat so if you’re interested I’d be willing to negotiate a reasonable price or trade. I may also have a couple gyrospheres from the Jurassic Park theme if you want to try working with those spherical objects.
If u want an omidirectional ball, use the planets but the piece that connectsto them should also be able to move 90°to the right or left from the ship that it is connected to. If I had a planet I would design one to better explain myself.
i don't know if it's been mentioned , but would the sphere / ball from lego indiana jones temple escape ( set nr. 7623 ) work ? the part number is 41250 , and it's technically a duplo piece , but it might be helpful . ( if a bit anticlimactic . )
I've never had one of those! Those are great! I'll have to pick some up and start experimenting! (though it's going to be the colorful ones, the gray ones are $10-$50 each!!!)
This wouldn’t work for what you’re trying to do, but there’s a tiny piece from bionicle/hero factory that is literally just a sphere with no studs or anything.
Yes, I think I mention that when I get to the planet pieces. They would work in some ways, but the studs really hampered the movement and tended to get stuck on the receivers.

The first tanks look like something Galactus would use
Assuming he stops eating the wheel.
Awesome stuff. Yeah those BB-tanks are super creative and unique

Yep, I've found a whole bunch since this video, but very few at the size I was looking at for this build:)

Those tanks are looking awesome!
If you want a 3d print, I may be able to hook you up with an anti stud ball..... no guarantee though.
Couldn’t you just make clamps to hold down the planets? Like the dishes? It’d be almost omni directional

Wow
Why does the last ship thingy look like the slave one I mini scale
Check out the original video;)
That first ball build is hella illegal, i tried it and it doesnt fit entirely.
