I am using endurance run and people complaint me for background noise. That's the reason I am looking for a different earphones. Audio quality and build quality is just beyond awesome.
Wonderful review & really good comparison. I have Sony MDR XB75ap used very roughly still working completely same after 6 years with minor scratches, mic is really good. I ordered backup JBL endurance run when I saw wear on sony over time, mic is good here too. Both of them are really good for calls but both are not good for music since sony has too much base which eats up some mids & treble seems overshadowed. JBL Endurance run is balanced but still music is still average nothing exceptional but everthing average(average bass, average mid, average highs). But still better than any ear piercing treble, bass absent chi-fi in same price range.

You are right about JBL microphone better than Sony . I am using JBL endurance run and Sony mdr ex255ap. My friends sometimes camplain about noise while talking to them when i use sony but they never camplain about jbl.
I am using jbl endurance run bt and sony mdr xb55ap.. Quality of sound and bass of jbl endurance run bt is much better then sony xb55ap....only lack in jbl endurance run bt max volume is low...please suggest me something about ex255ap

Sir, sometimes such a situation happens that a person has to speak slowly. In that situation, the mic has to be brought in front of the mouth to talk and it gets spoiled quickly. Please can you suggest me such a headphone that even after talking in front of the mouth, it does not get spoiled very quickly.

For extensive calling i suggest to go with TWS as ANC is not available in wired earphone. Realme buds 2 is my first choice at 3000rs. If your working place is silent then buds air 2 is very affordable option.
Next is nothing ear (1) at around 7000rs and the best is apple earbuds in terms on noise cancellation. Choose according to you budget.
For wired earphone you can follow the "mic comparison video".

Dear friend can You help me to understand the difference between JBL Endurance RUN2 and JBL Endurance Run. Both are wired version and looks like there is no difference. But there is difference of course. So, what is the main difference, I am not able to discover.

Very nice in 600 better than mi dual driver it has perfect vocals, lows thora bass ke liya descent hain or baki sabh perfect, if you had 600 then go for it . But in 1000 you have to choose

Today I learned why I found x155 ap very very comfortable. Because they weight only 4gram. I bought x255ap they were definitely upgrade in the audio section but they weight 50 grams!!!. That's why they were so uncomfortable for me. So weight also definitely matter in comfort as well as ergonomic.

You can avoid sony especially ex155ap for mic issue. Ex255ap is good or you can go with any of JBL.

Hey, please update your review....The Boult X1 mic is absolutely trash. Forget recording, one can't even hold a conversation on call using its mic. The replacement earphones have the same terrible mic so it's not a one off issue.

1. It rather would've been useful if the background noise was a "loud-ceiling-fan", or a "barking-dog", or "cafe-sounds", or even better - all three combined… instead of some music.
2. Your device (Samsung Galaxy S10) is not picking the 'sound of silence' (aka "Self Noise") when recording the video. Every earphone's mic registers "Self-Noise" even in a quiet room. It would've been useful if you recorded the audio in a computer.
Mics in earphones this cheap, by itself, wouldn't suppress any noise. What's more important is figuring out which earphone adds the least "SELF NOISE" when recording.
But i appreciate the effort big bro.

Yeah that's right, some models are obselete.
As far as latest earphones, most people are investing in TWS as headphone jack slightly going away from smartphones, so I suggest to look for a TWS.

I wish you had reviewed them while wearing.. Some of the mics hang so far down that you literally need to hold them closer to your mouth while speaking. That's not practical in meetings and looks very odd
You will face this issue only with boult audio x1 in which the microphone is centered down. And for better vocal, you need to get them close to the mouth....for intensive calls, get a headphone with dedicated microphone.

I felt that JBL C200SI's microphone was the best.
Brother..I used Sennheiser CX275s for singing in smule. I have always felt that Sennheiser gives the best mic output. I also have a Maono condenser mic. Sometimes, i felt my earphone mic wins Maono hands down.
Since my earphone has become old.. I was searching for better budget earphones with superior mics. I felt JBL Endurance Run would be better. U also in your video had nice words about the mic quality in JBL Enurance Run.

btw....if you have a professional microphone you can turn off stereo mode in post., it will sound as microphone because all microphone record in mono.

Thanks for your detailed comparison on so many brands. Based on your recommendation on the microphone quality, I purchased the E10C and the mic was much worse than a pair of Panasonic Ergo Fit earbuds at half the price of the SoundMAGIC pair. I did side-by-side recordings via my Pixel phone jack and listened to the results on my large desktop computer speakers. No comparison. I wouldn't recommend the E10C.
Bad luck, It seems as i had poor experience with soundmagic audio quality and you had the same with mic. But anyway, the audio sample included in the video is a raw sample. Just let us know more how is the audio quality of your unit. It would be helpful for many others. Thanks

Sir I am using JBL c100si, these are my first branded earphones, prior to them I've always used local Rs.100 earphones but to be honest, I'm not too happy with JBL ones because they not only cut the max volume but sometimes the soft dialogues in movies are inaudible.
I've watched your reviews of Sony xb55AP, ex255AP and RHA 390 among others & I appreciate your work.
Sir my question is that which of these 3 is loudest while even managing to be audible during soft dialogues?
Also, I appreciate bass but not the kind which remains present all the time because I've heard from somewhere that in bassy headphones, head starts to hurt at loud volumes, I absolutely don't want that.

ex255ap and xb55ap are louder than rha ma390. 55ap will give u more bass and 255ap will give very decent bass with good stereo. Both will prove better than c100si.

When I clicked on the Amazon link provided by you in ex255AP's review, it is opening the Appario retail's page, but upon refreshing, it is opening the page of some other seller on Amazon which is not Sony's authorised retailer and it is not available for sale on flipkart.

I really wanted a review of best microphones because thats what i was searching to buy, due to work from home comittments and constant long meetings and calls while using an earphone. But sorry to say, this review didnt really help me in either getting an idea about how my voice over microphone would be heard by the other person in the meeting. I'll tell you the reason. Because you kept the microphone in your hand, at a very close distance to your mouth while reviewing all the microphones, That gives a very rosy picture of how the audio sounds. But when we are working on a computer, while talking on the microphone in long meetings, we have to use our hands on the keyboard. So we cant afford to keep the mic close to our mouth. So it would have bee very useful if you had reviewed the microphones by wearing the earphone in normal position and talking without supporting the mic with hand. That puts in perspective the exact audio quality what would be heard by the opposite person.
Thats true, if you have noticed ...i changed the distance of microphone from my mouth. Anyone can hold the microphone for 4-5 min but if your requirement is continuous calling , meeting etc...ill recommend to go with call center type headsets which have a dedicated microphone. Hope this helps for your requirement.
