With summer in season, many of you will be dorm shopping to prepare for your first year at college/university. These are some tips I would've definitely liked to know before I started my dorm shopping journey, and I hope they’re helpful to you. 1. work with what u have so u can save money
2. way before packing for your dorm, get a space ready to gradually pile your belongings, that way you’re organized and know what to bring the day of
3. go with the trusted and reliable appliance than the cheaper alternative. quality > aesthetics
4. go for neutral colors for things like appliances in case u want to switch up ur aesthetic so it’ll be easier
5. don’t try to spend everything right away for your dorm, u should wait for sales down the road, or price matching
6. check the university’s dorm restrictions
7. the university’s website provides virtual dorms to check dimensions, and measure everything personally
8. try to have functional decor: headstands, lamps, storage bins. keep decor away from your work area
9. get vertical storage. get bins you can stack and access
10. coordinate with roommate before buying so u can make decisive purchases. try to plan the dorm designs/aesthetics together
