- Northern California, 2013: Shane Franklin Miller is on the lam in the mountains after allegedly murdering his wife and their two children. Authorities believe he's hiding in a survivalist bunker, possibly on his own property.
The Hunt is a documentary-style non-fiction program for CNN starring John Walsh, the iconic former host of Americas Most Wanted. The Hunts mission is similar to the original programs: it tells stories of a wide range of criminal investigations in which the suspect (in some cases plainly the perpetrator) is a fugitive at large.
Through interviews with victims and law enforcement, The Hunt explores the background of each case and then provides the public with salient and prudent information about the suspects, with the goal that publicising the details of each case may help lead to the fugitives apprehension.

In India where I come from , they say that the rolling pin used by women to roll out dough can become a weapon in the hands of the same women . Meaning : if a woman can use a rolling pin to roll out dough for your bread and feed you , she can use the same rolling pin to thrash you too . If you cross a limit by abusing your wife , sister , mother , daughter , girlfriend, be prepared to be punished too . Every woman can only take so much and no more .........

After going through it myself I really believe that we should be teaching our kids in school what's acceptable and what's unacceptable in relationships so they know the signs and know what to do as soon as possible. Both boys and girls need to know this stuff, it would save lives
It's up to the parents who are supposed to teach children about relationships.

A lot of parents don't no themselves what healthy relationships are so how are they supposed to teach their children? They can't. It's so sad.

Domestic crime is rampant everywhere throughout the world. Stronger penalties are needed.
It's on us. We could do more to pressure elected officials to review and strengthen the punishment for domestic violence incidents.

Stronger penalties don't work, no matter the crime. Making it easier for the abused partner to get help does, making it less shameful to be a victim of abuse does. We still blame the victims for bad judgement.

It's not only man on woman domestic violence but woman on man also. Parents on their kids domestic violence especially.

I am blessed when my daughters dad tried killing me infront of her that i secretly rang my adopted sister and left the call on. After hours of torture abuse, 6 broken ribs, a fractured eye socket, a black eye and multiple bruising around my neck and all over my body. My adopted sister luckily picked up the phone and listened. I was lucky that day to get him arrested. I was a minor and he was an adult. He abused me for 5 years. Nearly succeeded killing me that day when my daughter was 2 but, i had enough. I was young and my daughter meant more than he did. Shes now 4 on saturday and we havent seen him since. We are happier than ever and i have a partner who took us both on and has never once laid a finger on me. Im lucky, this could of been me and my daughter.

John Walsh gets so emotional when he is talking about Shane killing his own little girls... you can see the emotion in John because he is reminded of the day that he lost his son Adam. I hope they find Shane so he can get what's coming to him and be held accountable for his actions

I don't like the term domestic violence, it implies that it's somehow less than other types of violence and it's not, it's worse because it's violence perpetrated by someone who is supposed to love and care about you

I always thought it implied that it's worse than other violence. Because it happens at home, it should be your safe place with people that keep you safe. It's definitely worse and more traumatising than a random pub fight or something

domestic abuse NEEDS to be taken seriously. harsher punishments MUST be enforced. these men do NOT learn, they do NOT care. they will go to jail over and over again before they stop beating women.

there was recently something like that, that happened here in Australia a mother was I think taking her kids to school and/or daycare and her ex-partner got in the car and set them all alight killing himself and their children the mother escaped the car but died in hospital...

Then once they start to abuse you, it's threats of all kinds until the battered wife syndrome is so severe that they don't have the self esteem to go because he has beaten her down emotional to a devastating degree.

I think people who were a part of Miller met him out in the woods, consulted with him and recommended he do himself in. The reason why He killed his wife and children died with him. This case as in so many like it offers no justification for the killing of family members more over children. Perhaps He felt it was too much pressure on him to have a wife and children, perhaps he felt tied down or he felt as if he was being controlled by his wife or perhaps he was taking drugs which blurred his sense of reality or the demon which had taken a hold of his body finally pushed him over the edge. We can go on and on speculating but we may never know the cause which lead Miller to act killing his wife and two children and when he finally came down to earth from what he did realizing what he had done killed himself. I think we need to come up with some kind of prevention thing that will prohibit people from doing things like this. Like getting inject with some kind of Nano particles that will stop one from even thinking about killing others.
