Born, raised, and still live here in la crosse. 2:04 rivoli theator one of the oldestest theaters here. 3:18 the bluish-greyish apartment building used to not be there. It used to be a cute tiny house. We called it grandma besl's, and it was beautiful in the winter. It even had christmas lights and even the yard was decorated and had santa. Eventually it went from that to red balloon day care which was many for babies. Now it is the apartments. 3:39 Hixton house. There is a decent amount of history.
i use to live in la crosse for three years during my high school years at logan high school . i lived on french island an close to downtown . in late 80s to early 90s .the early part of the 90s the Mississippi River flooded the parks and part of French island while I was living there.the Saint use to have the training camp at the college . i personally love the town an the mall was the hang out place when i was a teen . thank you for this vlog . it took back memories
Leithholds music is worth checking out. It used to be a steamboat company. You can go up a massive stair case made of hardwood and check out some of the upstairs. Just ask. The hardware store on the same block is still one of the old hardware stores and worth checking out too. The new friendship garden at riverside park is outstanding.
We just stopped in LaCrosse for the night, so we didn’t have much of a chance to walk around. Just took a spin around town and hit the road. It looks like an interesting city to explore on foot.
@@spacetrucker2196 I’m sure. We had a number of breweries in New Orleans (Dixie, Jax and Falstaff) but I think they all stopped operations here by the 60s.
@@504RoadTrips Wow,really? We have the worlds largest six pack and three festivals that celebrate binge drinking. You would think that would be enough.
I've been watching some of those. During our brief stay there, it just seemed to mostly be a college town with a lot of bars. But alcohol combined with young people tends to result in a lot of police activity.

Love this. I worked with American Cruise Lines and this was one of the best cities we visited.

Also the pearl has the best ice cream
I live in La Crosse - the friendship gardens are beautiful and free. Buzzard Billies is delicious and the Pearl has amazing ice cream
man I saw those for the first time this summer. I was blown away.
At 5:30 is Rudy's drive in.One of the few drive in restaurants, with car hops, left in Wi.
Didn’t include any shots of grandad bluff park? That’s like a staple destination!! Although nice facts to know

I Never Trip To LA CROSSE WI Yet Before and they have shopping malls, restraurants, movie theaters and many more
Well done! Enjoyed the video and info!
Much appreciated!
Lived there 81 to 83 loved it.
I lived here in 2012. I love it.
Sure has changed since the 1970's when I was young and visited various establishments. Good to see Howies (5:53) is still there.
I went back relatively recently, maybe 5 or so years ago now to get my birth certificate, Deaf Earrecords is a shell of it's former self :(
Home of the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps, formerly the First Federal Blue Stars (sponsored by a local savings & loan association).
Too many (La) Cross(e) streets ........................I'll see myself out. Great video as always Jason.
That's a "dad" joke if I ever heard one! Thanks for watching, as always!
La Crosse Wisconsin is great if you are a college student but if you are a 57-year-old single male it’s the worst place I’ve ever lived
Hey I live here!
Nice lookin town in Wisconsin
What! did we miss the worlds largest six pack. You were so close!
We covered that in our US-61 series. ruclips.net/video/C5e_EqpMxN8/видео.html
@@504RoadTrips whew! That's import to us. back in the 70's all the kids toured the brewery as part of school science class.

Would this be a good family town?
I don’t know. But it’s a college town, so maybe not. Maybe someone from Lacrosse could try to answer.
You only went by 5 of the 16 Kwik Trips in LaCrosse. Not an exaggeration. But you hit 3 more in the next video.
And a dozen more as we travel south through the rest of US-61 in Wisconsin.
LA CROSSE COUNTY IS A GOOD DRIVE
I’m looking to move. Show me more!
OrganicValley is based in LaFarge Wi. Not LaCrosse.
La Crosse “area”, although La Farge is 60 miles from La Crosse. I guess they make that claim because it’s the closest city.
@@504RoadTrips The company doesn't claim that. Where they are based is right on their website....LaFarge
@@bobknull7502 the company doesn’t claim it, the city does.

Look at your house from Grandad 's with Binoculars
Very boring twon
Considering all those police cam videos maybe not so much
