I cannot really relate to this. I'm usually very much into a subject until I get bored and completely lose interest. I'm a polymath, have had many interests, tried them and then moved on. And I really hate accounting. Otherwise I am very practical in a sense, I love to see results of what I do but life is all about "falling in love" with a subject and then another and another. In the same time I like to be left alone to do my stuff but I need variation. I think Mercury in Virgo is greatly misunderstood, as Virgo in general. Virgo is a mutable sign, meaning that it doesn't want to do the same thing the same way all her life and it is related to change. Virgos might like jobs which might mean seclusion and maybe even routine, BUT that is because they have an extremely overactive mind which can get overstimulated in more lively environments. With Virgo Mercury there are so many ideas and so much going on inside ones head that they need independence and a chilled environment to be able to function and not burn out.

Virgo Mercury, and virgo sun... I feel like you described me in a nutshell. As for the emotional clues.. I usually just tell people exactly with words what I am feeling. I try to be as accurate as possible describing my inner emotional experiences just for the sake of communication. But it's true people usually think I am cold hearted while I can spend two days crying (alone) about why my friend told me this or that... I usually just come back to them and tell them with words what I emotionally experienced. They never believe me. I however show more emotions around my partner and that's it.
