I have been twitching since late 1990 to target all species, but some day fish just shut down on certain bait. When I fished in Erie, PA, there were 6 of us and we all used different baits. I used modified crappy tube back then, but some are fly fishing and pinning fishing, but one guy got the live minnows. He caught them back to back and the rest of us caught nothing. He knew me and tried to offer me couple minnows, but I said thank you. I did not take it. He said that he brought live minnows last week too, but he caught nothing. That day was his day. I then moved to other spot and I landed 6 in another spot.
If you talk to someone else, they might say that spawn sacs would be easiest to catch the steelhead. For my own opinion only is absolutely NOT. Some day maybe the spawn sacs day and the next day maybe the jig day. There are so many food sauces hidden in the river that you n I do not see, but fish do. Go and Check my recent tutorial video " How to jig for steelhead". Thank you.
I used 6lbs Samurai line in the video. The line was expensive about $39 up. I like the line because it is small in diameter. 6lbs Samurai line is almost as same as 4lbs line. 10lbs Samurai line is almost as same as 6lbs Pline, but the bad thing this line is sink fast and easily getting stuck in the rock.
KUMBO!! Those were my tracks in spot # 1 🤦🏻♂️ I gotta go in afternoon!!😎great fish my friend
You got it! We got some good fish!
Seen you out there the other day… Killing them on the jigs you gave me!!
Thank you.
If you don’t do the same thing as he does with his bobber, you will catch more fish. A smooth uninterrupted drift is best.
