How to: Fix Loose E39 Interior Door Handles!

- Hey guys! I wanted to share with you one of my latest products in a line of BMW parts that I designed and 3D-printed at home! This one is meant to fix the loose door handle that commonly occurs on E39's. A little rubber spacer/gasket wears down and leaves room for the inner door handle to wiggle, but my part solves the problem!
Let me know what you think of this idea, and if you have any other problems with your old BMW that require new solutions! I'm really enjoying designing and building my own car parts. I have lots of other products available for BMW's on my site as well, so check those out down below!
This product for sale on my store: thebimmerbarn.com/collections...
Fits door handles with part number: 51218226050 & 51218226049 Авто/Мото
I used to grab these from junk cars all the time, lol! This is great that you made these!!!
Thanks! I'm seeing less and less E39's at my junkyards, so I guess it's time to start making our own car parts!
Great fix Chris! Glad to see you back on YT. Have a good one, Dutch regards, Nico.
Oh ! good to see you back Chris ! 😃😃😃😃
I can confirm the exact same thing happens on the E34
Procedure and fix is the same too
Just like oil leaks, some things BMW engineers just cbf fixing despite nearly a decade between models...
Looks like a winner!
really cool to see you back. I've been using this for a while now but i found the stl on prusa printables dont now if you remixed or did your own. the upload is fairly recent August 2023
Hmm, didn't see it! I designed these from the ground up when I found that my old ones had deteriorated so badly. Thanks for watching brotha!
@@TheBimmerBarn man no worries most likely someone just happend to think the same thing. heck i did this in pla a couple of years back since my passanger door was not working. I'm very thankfull for your videos they helped me fix plenty of issues with my 528i. i did manual swap on it since in argentina fixing an at tranny ys way more expensive than manual swap. sadly i only found the getrac trans, its good but i can go agresive on power upgrades.
@@TheBimmerBarnalso there is a fix ond the rear regulator if you can not find pre lci mecanisms. you use the post one buy a couple of bolts and use a small aluminum sheet to make a support in the bottom so you can have it secure or if your cheap use zipties. third world country third world solutions lol
Great one 👌 Thank you .
Need your help for how to remove the driver door handle to replace or if possible to repair a cylinder lock 🙏🏼
You are one clever dude. Glad to see you back on the tube of you. How's your Fiat holding up?
The Fiat is great! I've had to do some services (transmission fluid, timing belt, motor mounts) but been really reliable. I even added 2 more Fiats to my fleet! Would recommend these cars as a reliable daily driver since they're spacious on the inside but get great MPG's. Thanks for watching and sorry for the late reply!
More E39 videos please.
I'm planning to buy my first E39
So far owned only E36. 5 of them.
Want to try E39. To rebuild it and restore it. Big project, longtime
Hi Chris. Really like your videos, especially the n54 based ones. Anymore projects coming up?
Currently working on a E39 wagon build, will have more videos on the E53 coming up too, and also some 535xi content coming eventually! Been busy with some other side projects which have taken away my time from editing which is why I haven't been posting so much. Thanks for watching!
@@TheBimmerBarn sounds great 👍🏼
Hey just wondering where to get the door replacement gasket from?
this will fit e38 2001? i think its same handle but not sure
Hi, how are your dyed rear seats holding up? Have they cracked or are they faded from the sun? Thanks!
No cracks or fading so far! But the car is mostly kept indoors too. I'm about to use the same product again to convert another rear seat so I'd recommend it!
To nie naprawa tylko dołożenie elementu który brakował, bo jakiś Paprok nie włożyć go wczesniej
Could you upload the STL somewhere?
@TheBimmerBarn I wouldn't mind paying for the design, it's just that the cost of shipping to Europe is probably higher than the pieces are worth.
@@JorgeAlvarez-ex3vs yeah, I'm in the same boat, shipping cost would be twice the price of the part, I would pay for the file, if only I could find it anywhere
What 3d printer do you use?
I use a couple of modified Ender 3 V2 printers. They work great for my small print farm!
