I never had any luck with lacquer paint it's strong n if you try to spray it over anything but lacquer it tears it up unless you let the base coat dry for a month lol I use the Dupli-Color clear now from the auto parts store it's wonderful after you wet sand and polish that is a amazing build there have a good day sir thanks for sharing
After watching several of your shows... I feel like I'm watching a commercial for your products that you make to sell rather than the joy of building. but I wish you much success.
Great looking machine Mark. Like you said, there's always something that doesn't want to play well. I almost exclusively use Testors Enamel Gloss Coat clear mixed 50/50 with lacquer thinner. Works over everything I have shot.......enamel, lacquer, urethane and acrylic.
I guess it pays to stick to the same brand and type of paint. I've been using 2k clear coat over lacquer and find it gives a good result. In spite of the problems the model looks great. Engine detail is fantastic. We're watching for more. Thanks for sharing.
I had the same problem with the gloss black from Alclad was great before the clear coat once I clear coat it. It faded in some areas but could not fix it because I already had decals on it
I have heard lacquers and enamels dont like each other and it is not good to mix. May have to try enamel klears on enamels ....dont know if that helps :)
TESTER MODEL MASTER GLOSS COAT WORKS GREAT. I ALSO USE SILVER COLORED PENCIL'S NICE FOR THIS TYPE OF BODY AND INTERIOR HIGHLIGHTING. ALSO A NICE BARBER BRUSH WORKS GOOD TOO.
great looking car thanks for the tips. how do you make the hose clamps? I am glad I am not the only one to have bad things happen when the kit is done.
The paint may be lifting if the surface is too smooth, don't know how you prepared the surface, l think the wiring is out of scale, never opened a hood and saw wiring that would have looked that way, if l did it would worry me, other than that the car looks nice.
Well for all the problems she turned out beautiful nicely detail great tips on The Wire aluminum rims look great
It looks great, and you did a wonderful job considering all of the issues you had with the paint.
Awesome build sir great detail take care

Very nice build Mark. The paint looks great. Nice clean build. As clear coats go, I use Tamiya clear out of the can or 2K clear.

I have heard lacquers and enamels Don't! Like each other dunno if that helps :)
Never spray lacquer over enamel, lacquer is very volatile and will eat enamel for lunch!✌️😊
👍
Looks great
