I noticed that Tao Ren is contra in pregnancy but it's in Gui Zhi Fu Ling Wan. Hopefully, this formula won't ever have to be used for a potential miscarriage but it has the textbook use for restless fetus. Tao Ren is 9g, like the rest of the herbs in the formula. So I think the argument of it being an envoy doesn't apply. Can you talk about this a little more? Thanks!
I think for real-world applications, it's good to have some nuance. But when it comes to things like, "Which answer should I circle on this test?" it would be nice if things were more concrete.
Please allow me to ask sir, I am giving Ba Zhen Tan formula to my wife who is 8 months pregnant... Why? Because the HB level in her blood is quite low (in the tongue diagnosis I also found my wife in def. Xue) and she feels weak... I am worried because there is Chuan Xiong, please give me your guidance... Thank you

Thank you for this! The ambiguity in TCM, and particularly in textbooks like Bensky, drive me crazy!
