As a retired studio drummer and guitarist in NYC at The Record Plant East in the 70's I think Joe is a national treasure for the blues community ! He picks the finest musicians ( cream of the crop ) and wow! those three back up chicks give me goose bumps when they belt out totally on key with no flaw !. I wrote and played for so many bands and would have paid to play for these guys! His voice and guitar work is just outrageous!!!! People giving this a hands down are just musically numb! With all the greats passing on, we should be glad to have him carrying the torch of the blues for all to enjoy! I for one always look forward to what he's going to lay on us, and he hasn't yet to disappoint me with my trained ear from my years of studio work and performing on stage. What a great musician! Makes me proud indeed! Sorry Europe..........Can't touch this!!!!!!!!!!! This is home grown American!

Everyone knows Joe is a smokin guitar player but I truthfully don't he gets enough credit for his voice.
Austin Knowlton his voice is atrociously bad that’s why. Hands down, an amazing guitar player. I can hear him talk about gear for hours. Love his playing, but I, like many others can’t stand his voice. Of course, props to him for still singing and pushing through. His music doesn’t work for me.

Austin Knowlton I’m a listener. I LOVE his playing. I know I can sing better than him as well as multiple vocalists I know. You must be tone deaf to not realize that. Sure I’ll admit that it has gotten better especially in the new record. I’ve heard middle schoolers sing better than him at my sister’s all state chamber orchestra. I’m not only one who thinks this, and of course it’s my opinion.
Well let's hear ya then. Put something on RUclips that represents your ability to out sing all these vocalists. Me? I'm no singer but I'm far from tone deaf. Been playing guitar for 35 years though, lots of blues, but it would be ludicrous for me to claim I can outplay Joe. Although if I were to make such a claim I would be more than willing to back it up.

The backup singers were what cemented this track for me. I keep going back to a review of Linda Ronstadt's Hasten Down The Wind where a guitar riff was described as being "strung with human nerve ganglia" -- the singers are the same here. They resonate with me in a place I didn't know I had before I heard them sing, and Joe play.
This is a late-night, go-to, headphones-on, volume-up track for me.

This song is a true masterpiece. It is a philosophy book. It is a poetry in every word.
I had my 7th and 8th-grade students watch this video so they could see how the backup singers do not hold back. "They actually open their mouths." I had them watch it a few times and told them to watch it when they got home. The result was amazing. They blew me away for the most part. Thanks ladies. Thanks Joe.

Everybody is just fantastic, but the ladies deserve an extra praise - unbelievable.
The Redemption album is amazing. The lyrics, musical arrangements and vocals are nothing short of miraculous. The collaborative efforts of the musicians, singers and the engineer/producer made for a musical masterpiece.

From that slide guitar to begin to the hardcore blues raspy vocals to the Kashmir breakdown, and SWEET BABY JESUS, the harmonies those gorgeous backup singers are belting out makes me want to drop to my knees and confess!!! @@jeffreyquinn3531 and for this I am grateful. The last time I stopped dead in my tracks for music was right after Aaron Neville got out of prison. He and his brothers were playing in a small courtyard at a bar in Pensacola. I told my friends we should enjoy it because I knew we would be buying tickets to see him , alone , in concert. A couple of good women named Bonnie and Linda saw and heard the same thing in him. He belonged somewhere else other than Fat City and Tipitinas.

Just got back from his date in Pittsburgh (March 16, 2019). I've been listening to his music for about a year. I HAD to go. I was not disappointed. Played the full album and then some. His ladies were from Australia. One of the 3 best concerts I have ever seen and I'm 62, and been to over a hundred. Bonamassa rocks.

The writing and arrangement..the emotion in Joe's playing, soloing and singing..and those backing singers.. Jesus H, this stuff is just devastating!!
Plus Joe is so versatile on this song. He does it all. Electric rhythm, slide, fingerstyle, then even plays a crazy solo over what sounds like a groove in 5/4, but over a 4/4 drum beat!!

The first time I heard this I was openly crying with emotion! I judge music by the feelings that it awakens inside of me, regardless of genre, be it rock,soul,dance, blues etc! I had never heard of this artist before but this track was, in my humble opinion, one of the best I have ever heard!
Joe’s vocals are greatly improving, one hell of a musician.
I keep returning to this video and it’s one of my favorite Joe Bonamassa songs. I think everything about it works: the lyrics; Joe’s vocals and, of course, his guitar playing; video content that gives us a glimpse of the creative process; and the important role the backup singers play - love it!
