Shame it didn't go to plan mate, still a good morning/ afternoon ride in the Dales & i'm glad you had the willpower to go right to the top as it means I never have too :D My 'accident' detection went off for the first time a couple of weeks ago when all i'd done was slow to a stop for a quick breather where my mates had stopped, nothing abrupt. I wondered what the hell it was as when I have actually had an off its never set it going, luckily I hadnt put in a contact or my partner sister would have full on panicked & probably called the local MRT :D I still think my favorite Dales straight up & down a hill ride (although a slight loop) is Great Shunner Fell through Cotterdale & ending at Hardraw. Great video Andy and some lovely scenery as always in Yorkshire 😁 when you got to the transmitter it almost looked like the one on Shatton moor in the Peak District
You can see it's a British channel when riding speed doesn't change in wet conditions. I would've crawled over those wet rocks and you just kept riding like it's dry.
Ha ha. Great message Marko. Made me laugh. Yes I attack just the same in the wet as the dry as it’s always wet here. And you just get used to it. I actually prefer riding in wet conditions though.
Nice video. Often consider whether that BW up past Mossdale is doable in a dry spell, then I look at Google Earth! I generally go up the climb where you went wrong and round to Grassington that way. PS it will be cheaper to stick a smaller chainring on than spend on a new mech and cassette!
Already run a 30. 28 would make all the other gears 2 light. New cassette would be exactly the same but with an easier 1st gear. Need to replace anyway as it’s worn. Had the new cassette 2 months now. And it’s amazing to climb with. ( this vid was filmed in aug)
4 mile of climbing wow 😬, do you use the twinloc system much on big climbs? Another great video, just sitting down to me coffee while kids are in bed and this pops up to watch 😁
Hi mark. I don’t have twinloc anymore as I upgraded the suspension. And just have it in open mode all the time. Open mode on the fox dpx2 is just a little firmer than the middle setting on twinloc
Some times when exploring you find a gem and sometimes you don't. So are you not impressed with your garmin was thinking of getting a 530 mainly for the road bike.
That’s right rich. If you don’t try something you don’t know. My Garmin is amazing. It’s just the accident detection is a little sensitive. And if you don’t stop it in 20 seconds it texts my parents and girlfriend that I’ve crashed. It just needed turning off. The 530 is a great device. I’ve just bought the 1030 plus. Loving it.
I was wondering why it was peeping at you. I have a 530 and haven’t found anything wrong with it yet. My main problem is I don’t understand all the functions yet
I thought the descent was worth the climb. It isn't steep down, but then again, it isn't steep up. Views from the ascent are good, but weather changes rapidly up there, so beware. We got boiled , drenched, dehydrated, frozen and boiled again.
Game changing. I wouldn’t be able to do the rides I do without it. The 820 is pretty cheap now and still a good device. But if you don’t mind splashing the cash the 830 or 1030 plus are great

Always the same when exploring. It’s either a hidden gem. Or not so great. I still enjoyed it. All time on the bike is good time.
