The wonder of Made in Japan is that there were ZERO overdubs!!! We hear the performances of these songs as the Japanese audiences did. These recordings are simply astounding and, to me, Made in Japan is the greatest live album of all time!!!
FOREVER DEEP PURPLE!!! Yes they are the best hard rock band. Thank you Elok Tsu, is wonderful to have your reaction. I was sure you won't regret it. Thank you so much
This performance has stood the test of time - I have heard this very recording 100s of times, I have had this CD in my car for 18 years, never took it out.
I managed Deep Purple's first website and online store from 96 - 02 and it was a privilege and dream come true to get to know my all time favorite band. Your genuine reactions to DP's live brilliance warms my heart as Purple's legacy passes on to the next generations. 🙏
@@RB747domme Hi Clint. I went to their US tour co-headlining with Judas Priest a few years back and the band were kind enough to provide excellent free tickets and backstage passes. I only got to see Roger Glover who remembered me, and talked for a while with Don Airey because Jon Lord was in the band during my tenure. I met Paicey several times and always got along because he was so gracious, but he tended to stay to himself more like Jon, who I had a great relationship with. Gillan would probably remember me but Roger was the first band member who embraced the web and then e-commerce. I also received a nice mention on his website. And as the 'new' guy at the time, Steve Morse was about as down-to-earth as you could get and a really genuine person.
Made in Japan by Deep Purple was quite a sensation in its day. Most Deep Purple Fans dismissed this particular song on the Album because it wasn't a Pure Banger. I always loved it because of its unique Artistic content. It appears that you love it for the same reason. Your reaction was both adorable, and validating to an original Heavy Metal Rocker. Cheers from the Past!
thank you for bringing this super band of all time Deep purple with the best formation that overwhelming sound of Richie blackmore's guitar unique incomparable inimitable with him in the band is the best without him it is not the same and thanks to you for bringing Deep purple being so young you know about music I congratulate you a hug from Santiago de Chile 🇬🇧🇨🇱

Thank you for yet another reaction to Deep Purple, Elok!! It is always a pleasure to get to spend a few minutes on your channel! If you have not reacted to their song called "Woman From Tokyo" yet, you should! Best of luck to you on your channel!! Peace from Canada!
I used to lay the speakers on the floor and then between them to listen to this, high volume, that was when I was a teen which was a long long time ago, Strange kind of woman is probably my favourite deep purple tune but it might be Burn or maybe even Child in time....
this song is so deep purple. haven´t heard it in a long time, but still love it. thank for your fine and well structured analysis and reaction, elok hsu.
Deep Purple is my all-time favourite band ... largely because of Made in Japan. Though in my view Strange Kind of Woman is not one of Purple's better compositions, this performance of the song is simply spectacular! I have never heard guitar tone like Blackmore achieved on this live album, and specifically on this tune. The BLUESIEST Stratocaster tone EVER!!! And of course the guitar-vocal battle between Blackmore and Gillan has never been matched. It is simply miraculous!!! God, this is good!!!
To this day I still listen to this album at least once a week. When people ask me what my favorite song is, I always say, "Made In Japan, Side one." I owned the album when it was released :)
Brilliant song, brilliant reaction! Was clear that you enjoyed it, Elok. The peak time for that band, even though they did a lot of great stuff before and after. My favorite album during my high school years and probably still. Great to hear this again, it’s been a while! It’s just too bad we couldn’t see them do it… Oh well, we can use our imaginations...
I also agree Purple is the best hard rock band. And what's prove is that this live album, made in japan is the best ever made. And this song is also one of the best on it. Love how Ian Gillian and Ritchie Blackmore are jamming together on it. As an curiosity, you could also listen to an Italian all female cover band, Strange kind of women. Who only plays Purple songs (of course) they are very good. Even Ian Paice has commented how good the drummer is. I also recommend you listen to Purples album called Fireball, there are some really great songs on that album. Like Fireball and Demon´s eye.
You wish what we all wish for, to be able to see these Japan shows on video but alas, there is iirc some 8mm footage out there claimed to be from Japan. Always liked this song and i remember once just walking into a recordshop early 70's for a browse and they had this song(well the studio version) as a single. Think the flipside was I'm Alone. Instant purchase as I already was a Deep Purple fanatic by then and it was not on a album in those days, just a 45 rpm single. Ofcourse the version on Made in Japan kills it, the interplay between Ritchie and Ian was magic. Glad you enjoyed it, and also You Tubing it, not done much with this track.
I love "I'm Alone" ... the guitar solo is explosive! I first heard it on a bootleg record along with "When a Blind Man Cries". The bootleg sounded like shit, but those two songs still blew me away.
Glad you listening to this song one I suggested! I live in village called Castletown in far north of Scotland! Try lou Reed rock n roll animal lp and girl band birtha from 1970s 👍
