I got to meet him and John Schneider on 9-2709....and they both was so nice. But this song is awesome!!!.. I didnt know he was that good. :).. I love them as the Dukes.. but he can sing.. I knew John could but now I know Tom can too. Thanks for posting this.
I still have this excellent album that I boughted back in 1987 and it still in great shape and I just recorded it on a Victrola CD recorder and it still sounds just as good. I love this album and man can Tom Wopat sing.
Tom Wopat's cassette was one of the only ones in my father's truck after he moved out of town and I bought it. Great memories. If you have more of these, I'd really appreciate them! True Love is another Id like to see, and Cars. Thanks man!
Back in the 90's I digitized my XDR (Extended Dynamic Range) cassette of this album to a CD-R using a Denon cassette deck and a high quality sound card. I just played the CD and have to admit, the quality seems outstanding to my ears. What a great album and love that Bruce Hornsby is given credits for playing keyboards on this!
I had almost forgotten about this song. I have it on a 45. I liked both of them but Tom might have had the better voice. So glad you posted this. It really takes me back to a great time in my life.
Awesome song. I wish it was available on CD. I had this album on cassette years ago, but it broke long ago. Thumbs up to a classic album that didn't get anywhere near the respect that it deserved.
I love both the duke boys but in my opinion Like has a more natural way of singing and performing on stage.and even in the countless number of scenes from The Dukes he just has a natural flow rather than seeming practiced.
Neither one of the "Duke Boys" Got due credit in the country music industry. And Tom Wopat was better. Even though he got crapped on more than John Schnidier. \
I cannot find his first 2 albums. I think around 1975ish. “100% Chance of Rain” is the song, I believe on the album “Don’t Look Back”. OMG !!! What a voice and what a talent!!
I think Tom Wopat sings like most of us guys wish we sounded like!!
