I own the Royale replica and actually wear it a lot more than I thought I would. The sleeves on that one are also as you describe for the Connolly. I guess it kind of adds to the relaxed feel of it, I don't really mind. He also added an extra 2 inches in length which is nice. Obviously the Connolly has a much more detailing in the material and plus it's always nice to get the actual movie used item if possible/desired.
I also bought one from Royale; it’s supposed to be delivered today, actually. As for the Henley, I bought short and long sleeve slub cotton henleys from kohl’s for probably $30.
There are 2 versions of this jacket. The original one which had tan colored buttons and a blue waistband string. Then before the movie came out Connolly did another run of this jacket which has brown buttons and black waistband strings. And of course the tags.
I'm a sucker for a shacket, but that is really good-looking! You could even wear it without a shirt underneath, or a tank top, to the beach or for a summer event I think.
Regarding the length of the jacket, the fabric is bended over the edge of the lower end of the jacket and then goes up un the inside for about 1 and 1/4 inch. Therefore lengthening the jacket by around 1 inch should be no problem. I just got mine and that's what I am going to do.
Aside from that, this jacket seems to actually come in 2 lenghts. Mine had a label inside reading "long" which makes sense, because Italians and other peoples are shorter while northern Europeans are much taller. I found different lengths stated in measuring tables from different online stores, so I assume those weren't errors but some got the regular and some of them the long version. The difference seems to be 2 cm from regular to long.

Yeah agreed. Definitely a deliberate choice in the sleeves. Not exactly a con but something I personally will change on mine
