    Hey mate, hope your well
I had asked you regarding polishing compound. I finally found the right product. It's buff cake which gives the bats smooth and shiny finish! Thanks a lot for your help appreciate it

Thanks for the feedback. Glad it hit the mark!
Embarrassed to say, all my gear bags (helmet, thigh pad, glove bags) are all home made… Not too shabby on a sewing machine.

I know what you mean about the guys taking up room in the sheds. The keeper in the side I play in just spreads his stuff everywhere and is always the last to pack up his gear. Might have to show him the video.

Thanks for the feedback mate. Hope it provides good material for the Keeper in your side to pull his socks up, not take up too much room and get out to the joint a bit quicker. :)

Hiya mate. Love your videos and think you do a great job on repairs and refurbishment. I have started doing all the bats for players at my club, in Derby , England for free (ok, maybe a few beer tokens !). I'm struggling a bit to get a really good finish. I mostly use a detail sander at 120/240 as people want to keep the stickers, I buff with a makita 18v orbital sander with buffing disc and white compound. I think the sander and buffer are underpowered to get the best finish. I also hand sand with 320 / 400 or 600 paper and still can't get the new bat finish. Thinking of buying a mains sander and bench polisher ( can all bench grinders be converted to polishers?. All advice greatly received....keep posting the fab content

Hi mate. Sorry I missed this comment when you originally made it, and have just seen it replying to another comment.
Pretty much any bench grinder can be converted. But your smaller bench grinders, will have a similar situation being underpowered.
All white compounds are also not made equal. Try and find a better quality white compound. The stuff I currently use I got from a jewellery supplies. Gives a good hardwearing finish with a good shine.

Hi there. Can you suggest between Aero or Remfry Thigh Guard? Which one do you prefer and why?

    • @BatandBallCricket
      @BatandBallCricket  9 дней назад +1

      Remfry.
I carry a lot of my height through my thighs so the Remfry has great coverage. It also has longer life span. I’ve had my Remfry set for about 5 years and have only needed to replace the elastic straps one.
A team mate has needed to completely replace his Aero P1s twice in that same time.
More expensive to begin with but better value longer term.

@ Thanks for replying so quick 🙂. You’re right about them being a long term investment sort of thing. My only hesitation with Remfry is that they don’t protect the pelvis bone. If you look at Aero they have a detached padding type of thing for the pelvic bone. If one is going to play the sweep shot it won’t come in the way cuz it is separate from the main thigh guard.

Will it be a good idea to put your box inside a sock and then chuck it in your jockstrap?

Unfortunately these bags aren't available from any retail store. It took me a few years watching eBay and Facebook Market Place to find this one! Good hunting if you try this route.

They are given to players/staff basically each tour. I bought this one off Facebook Marketplace.
