Supposedly there are people who dropped the show just because of the childhood friend thing or because of the love triangle thing, which is unfortunate, because you can clearly see that these characters who have a romantic interest in the main leads, literally don't faze them like...AT ALL. Like Yuki and Ituomi are clearly unbothered and are very much focused on getting to know one another and opening up their worlds to one another 🤭😍🦋 That aside I find it funny when others say they're not into the shy girl thing anymore in romance animes and won't give the show a shot because Yuki to me seems very brave. She was shy and nervous yet bold enough to ask for his number. She was straightforward in telling Itsuomi that she wanted them to become closer or more friendly and asked straight up if Emma was his gf to which he didn't avoid the question and answered that she was JUST a friend. It's even further reinforced by letting her stay at his place while he leaves cause he's not into her and says to stop with the bullshit, lol. Yuki also felt that though it isn't necessarily correct to suddenly touch a deaf person because they can't really detect it coming as Oshi stated, she said it was okay if Itsu did it. As far as Oshi goes, I still find it weird how he's referred to as the childhood friend. They said that as children, he learned sign language through his sister and the first thing he ever said to Yuki was that she was a fool...so it's weird. Yes, he seems weirdly overprotective being an adult now and hopefully, he would have learned some kind of empathy by this point, however, he definitely comes across as being more childish and jealous at times than an actual good man (Itsu) would genuinely be romantically interested in her and not just messing around with a deaf girl, because that's exactly the type of person he was and still kinda is, as whenever he signs with her currently, it's to be in her business and mean. It's like he can't believe that another man would actually be so kind to her and treat her like a person rather than a liability I think.
That's very weird that people dropped that show. It's very clear, like you say, that Yuji and Itsu only have eyes for each other, and no one is getting it the way of that. There does seem more to Oshi than meets the eye and interest to find out about him the most
Itsuomi is forward but also says the most special things to her so she can`t read it,he straight up almost confessed but made it so she can`t understand. As his friend said he is a bit different, pretty sure ND. Same with the coin he used so round about way to give her the coin ,I think because he didn`y know how to do it directly. I mentioned before but his odd ways of starting and cutting conversations, not being as aware of typical social boundaries even as someone from overseas, hyper fixated on travel and now Yuki + generally awkward in endearing way despite being extroverted. Even with Emma you can see that he reads the room but also not with the way he told her not to cry outside.
Since episode 2, I feel like something almost tragic almost happened to her when she was younger which made her childhood friend has been overprotective and why he said she should just stay where se is.
