I'm not bashing but heard from a guide during an AIARE course that booting up Bryant is a bad idea, that you should traverse out to it. Of course I always like to gp up what I'm going to go down. Seemed like a firm day - what was the avy danger that day? 2's and such?
You’re totally right but we made that call because it was super low avy danger, it was during that massive high pressure system we had in the middle of January. I too also felt like I wanted to see what I was going to ski because it was my first time up it. Such a rad day!
Great video dude! Headed to Alpental after work today actually, too bad I'm not even close to a good enough skiier to attempt something like this. One day!
That is a lot of work for crappy snow!! Cheers to your enthusiasm.

Awesome and super helpful video! I always assumed ppl just hiked up the couloir. Never thought of traversing over from the lift
I once skied down as 2 climbers were headed up. We sprayed them with slush and they gave us dirty looks. I've always dropped from the top as well.
I honestly didn’t know you could drop in from the top until we got to the top... next time I won’t be boot packing this line lol

Just gotta keep getting out there and learning the basics! I'm only 3 years into skiing and I still learn something new every time I go.
Great effort despite marginal skiing conditions! I can only imagine the bumps in the heavily ridden areas inbounds were huge and icy.
Yeah they were pretty rough but ice and hard snow mean stability in the snowpack! Definitely an awesome day in the backcountry.
Uhm, I'm happy you are getting outside, but not thrilled you are skiing on the tree tops!!! Yikes!
