I saw Maestro Wunder in México in 2015 at the Festival internacional cervantino in Guanajuato City. He played Beethoven, Chopin and Liszt it was an incredible recital he is one of the beast musicians so far. A Genius. Hope he returns to México someday.
The recital was inspired by the pieces that made Mr. Wunder start playing the piano at age 14 (www.deutschegrammophon.com/en/catalogue/products/ingolf-wunder-300-download-4032). Vladimir Horowitz was one of his big inspirations, next to Friedman, Rosenthal, Koczalski, Cortot, Kempff, Backhaus, Gieseking, and many other old-school pianists.
What a glorious artist. I heard him play in Washington d.c. 10 or 15 years ago and I knew then that he was a fabulous talent on the verge of reaching stardom. When was this recital performed?
Ballade op 23, coda: congratulations, dear ingolf, you are a great pianist.
Wow, what a triumphant evening!
Thank you so much.
