I played this when I was younger, and this scene scared the hell out of me. Especially the dark, blood soaked hallways and that insane marine leading up to it. The anniversary dumbs down the blood and dark hallways.
Actually, Jenkins didn't die at that point. *I cant remember the exact details, but this is how it went: He became a hybrid struggling to regain control of body, later realizing he couldn't do it, let the flood take him where it wanted... he arrived at a vent into Alpha base, captured by the marines & scientist & was interrogated. He started to regain control, but after halo was destroyed they escaped on T&R, but self destructed due to flood. him & scientist sacrificed themselves to do it.-books
@ Marshall gage 1. Because they didn't know about the flood. 2. Snipers suck up-close. 3. They probably have less access to those weapons than you think. 4. Even if they had been preemptive on it, in Halo 1 Sniper Rifles had absolutely no effect on the Flood, so the only useful things in that situation would be Assault Rifles and the 1 Shotgun, and even then they (except for shotguns, but they only have 1 or 2,) wouldn't be in a very good position because it takes a lot of Assault Rifle spray to kill just one. Now imagine an army of them. That small squadron had no chance.
Normansmight they had an elite held captive and the elite tricked them into going into this swamp to find a weapons cash when they got in the building well it was trap the flood we'll yeah
Love how chief is normal in the beginning of this cutscene, but after he watches Jenkins’ footage, he tosses the chip hard, breathing hard, and starts looking around. I wish the flood would make a comeback, they’re the biggest threat to the whole Halo series 😭
@jonathanboyd08 You're right over all but here are a few corrections: Jenkins did have some control over himself way before he was captured by Lt. Mackay and her men but he chose not to show it in fear that the Flood presense would sense it and interfere with his goal: Ending his misery with a bullet in his head. The also, Truth and Reconciliation never made it off Halo due to Mackay's ultimate decision. R.I.P Pvt. Jenkins
@iceman26031 From what I remember, he had partial control over his body because the flood spore had been weakened from centuries of containment, he tried to get himself shot to end the pain, but only got himself captured, and brought on board the T&R for research. Silvia's concern for humanity's safety was clouded by his desire for fame/promotion (For bringing back the T&R), so Jenkins tried to destroy the ship, failed, but Mackay understood, and finished the job, crashing the ship.
I rather fight life size bugs than the flood any day! 🐛🦟🐜🕷🦂 Squishy heads, all jumping around trying to land on your face, while having these arm sized antennas. F$&@ that!
@pizzapus1 IKR??? I was SOOO dissapointd they didn't make his name leeroy in CE.... And even more dissapointed when they didnt want to change in in CEA
personally i love this game and have read all the books.i even sometimes play the original game.but from contact harvest i remember his buddy forsell was also accepted into the squad.was he taking a crap outside?

Yup you said it
They hired Tony Stark for this missions design. Terrible idea
You know things are bad when even the Chief is slightly freaked out over what's been unleashed.
Finally something great and terrible happened while fighting parasite monsters losing hope for humanity.

It's been many years since I read that scene in the novel, but the Flood sequence described in the book still freaks me out to this day.
Little did good old Master Chief know, he was looking through the eyes of someone far more badass than him in that moment.
3:31 LET THE PHONE GOOOOOOOOO!
Imagine this scene with H2A graphics. It would look like a horror movie
0:23 R.I.P Mendoza

i love how keyes was there. why would he go there in the first place? he has plenty of subordinates
Normansmight they had an elite held captive and the elite tricked them into going into this swamp to find a weapons cash when they got in the building well it was trap the flood we'll yeah

I hate how everything in the “anniversary” gameplay is so fucking bright on levels that are supposed to be dark and grim.
and less blood
That dude yelling no on the radio scared me to death lol

When i first saw this scene i was shock and scare but thats the start of the nightmare.
Wonder why they used that model for keys, he's supposed to be in a marine combat uniform.
Cuz that's how he looks in reach probably
Guess I'm the only one in the house who liked the Anniversary graphics
i fine it really fun that 1 marine just flee from the flood like he didnt want to die in that room lol
How awesome is it that the Chief has a personal theatre system built into his armor?
1:16 ...Thats FAIN BAI ME!
I have played this and the only thing that scared me was the flood...look at them if they got to the spores we'll be dead...
How in the fucking hell Johnson can survive a massive flood attack and the explosion of Halo hugging an Elite?
Fatal Grasp he’s immune to flood and that cutscene was just a funny Easter egg not true
@@fivefriendlyfanatics2686 More like difficult for the flood to infect and found a pelican and left intact cause luck
i miss mandoza

@HarveyJohn100 Yarrrp, to be honest, wikipedia sums it up pretty accurately
Halo: The Flood
poor guy gets eaten by a plastic squid
1:00
What is this “old stuff” song?
why not have one trooper with a sniper, and one with a shotgun, instead of having ar's
because marines can snipe with the ce assault rifle
Because sniper rifles are useless against the flood.
personally i love this game and have read all the books.i even sometimes play the original game.but from contact harvest i remember his buddy forsell was also accepted into the squad.was he taking a crap outside?
Complains the Covenant locked it down real good. Opens door 5 seconds later
