It’s the type of expansion I like, too. It allows for a variant style of play, it has enough wind cards to keep from feeling repetitive. Will I always use it? No way, because I love the base game (including the first expansion), but it’s modular inclusion gives you the option to shake things up every now & again. The enemy pawn displacement adds a nice element of instability that fits its theme, too
Great stuff Sam! Will definitely be getting this. Small nit pick but I would have preferred the piece to be white or maybe clear as i can't help but think it looks too much like water.
I don't like the concept of the wind spirit. But I do like the two extra moves that come with it and I love this game enough that I will probably pick this up but for thosw two extra moves. I will definitely give the wind spirit stuff a chance too, but based on what I'm seeing I don't think I'll care much for it. I like the simple depth of the base game and first expansion. Adding too much flash seems to take away from what makes this game great.
I had the same issue with my GenCon copy as well. I bought the base game and both expansions at GenCon. When I went to sleeve it all up, this expansion's card quality was flimsy and much worse.
You're being dramatic. It's an option...an option you don't have to buy. Some people are looking for something different or more complex, if not then you can play the base game or other expansion. The spirit piece is nice and if you are confusing it for a different colored and shaped piece then you have bigger issues.
Is it just me, or is Dice Tower shilling this game and it's expansions? Just play chess instead of spending $50 at minimum to play this simple game and it's 2 expansions, in my opinion. You can buy a cheap board and pieces for under $5 and you'll have a lifetime of thoughtful play ahead of you.
The same logic can be applied to most games. You can print out and make your own version or use pieces of games you already have. The argument is stupid plus chess doesn't come with cards. The swapping and rotating of the cards makes the game completely different plus chess is fucking boring, sorry. I actually don't want to kill myself when I play Onitama and about your Dice Tower shilling BS. The game and expansions are universally well reviewed and even they are saying some things might not be for everyone. So just stop.
This game is actually extremely fun. I don't know about all the expansions, but the original was definitely worth it. It provides alot more unique situations than chess aswell.

Can't wait to get this expansion - LOVE this game!
Me too. Onitama is awesome. I like how the expansion doesn't add a lot of complexity.

Love the base game, will get Sensei Path eventually, but this one seems to complicate a simple game
this is more for ppl who want something different after playing alot of onitama great expansion
I think this looks like a great addition. The randomness of nature affecting the ordered plans of men.
I'm not sure, looks like an unnecessary addition to me.
Base game + Sensei's Path is enough.
I am also curious about whether it fits in the original box as well.
Peter Terry there’s no place for the wind spirit in the insert but you could always take that out to have more room
Maybe inside the game board?
Was the sheep and goat movement cards promos prior to this expansion??
Yes they were
You caught me again on the Flip Side. WTF!

Not sure what version you have, but my GenCon copy of this has terrible card quality

But does it all fit in the base box?
Maybe the base game + all new cards, but no the wind spirit mini D:
Roll it up in the play mat
I'll will definitely be buying this! The mini dose looks out of place, being translucent.
i think it looks super good. Its a spirit, spirits are kinda out of place in the real world lol
I don't like the blue color of the wind spirit. Should have been a neutral colour or just clear.
Yes.. Seems more water like than wind like..
I would have made it a clear or a frosted white
Thanks for the video. I think about this expansion os not essential but It looks fun!
Dont like it at all. Theres a saying . You dont need to repaint the Mona Lisa.
That makes no sense. They didn't change the base game. This is just an option. Don't buy it then.
Terrible idea, would ruin the game for me. And the Spirit piece is butt-ugly (they gave it one of the player colours - seriously?).

this plastic piece looks awful 0o
Really bad expansion

wow, why don't you try to write comments on a cardboard computer? it'll save a lot of electricity, and may potentially even prevent cancer.
