lmao right? I'm always just glad that I don't get stuck at important moments as much as I used to. I dodge a dva bomb later in this match by cleanly getting through a doorway. a while ago, I would have 1000% gotten stuck on the wall and died, and that's what we call character growth lmao
you would not believe the number of dva bombs I have stared into before getting yeeted back to spawn because my positioning was bad 😂 it's really just about positioning and preparation. honestly, map knowledge and awareness is huge. I knew where the nearest and best source of cover was before DVa used ult. that's 90% of the solution tbh. the other 10% is practice and experience. I'm not a big believer in mercy parkour because movement isn't where you derive the most value as Mercy, but it IS extremely helpful for learning muscle memory and building experience with her movement in a non stressful setting so you'll be ready to use it effectively when you're under pressure. you got this! it just takes practice, that's all.
@ Yeahh! I have some good memory of the maps, but ultimately I follow where my teammates go and usually.. straight into a wall. I would say my movement is pretty good (I play on Nintendo so I have a little extra setting where it follows my movements) and I grinded on mercy parkour for HOURS on end to be able to do good flicks. Mercy is just a really unique character, it’s really fun seeing others opinions on her!
@Doggo766 oh wow! I have so much respect for people who play on console because playing with a controller is harder for me. I think my best advice, without seeing your gameplay, is to think proactively about your positioning. when you set up somewhere, ask yourself where you will go if, for example, a Sombra sneaks up on you, if there's a dva bomb, if a genji flanks from the side or behind you, etc. that's what I still do. something that I've also really had to work on is being intentional about my movement. do I need to use crouch, or will a GA slingshot take me where I need to go? do I need to go up in the air with Pharah or can I beam them from the ground behind cover? can I stand somewhere in the middle-ish of my team where I don't actually need to GA to some of my teammates to beam them and where I won't take unnecessary damage? being competent with the movement is important, and some of that competency comes just from knowing when you don't need it. I've gotten headshot by too many widow players throughout my time in this game lol I've decided I'm not going to make it easy on them anymore
Nothing beats the feeling of a quick succession of hops between allies, adding just that health or boost needed to win each fight. Is like being omnipresent. Of course, only getting a tank kill with the blaster beats it, but we don't talk about when us Mercy main gets angry.
listen, sometimes you gotta take the Glock out and do the work yourself. lol you just reminded me of one of my favorite moments playing Mercy, where I glocked an enemy Rein right as they used shatter for some reason and then tbagged for extra disrespect lmao again, sometimes you gotta do it to 'em. I think I saved that game on my channel, lmk if you want to see it and I'll hunt it down
@@sethescope Completly agree. Since there's a meme about Reinhardts charging Mercy, I'm doing my own compilation of my own Rein kills as Mercy, and some are pure mindgames since they always understimate any Mercy that is on her own. I'd love to see it, and I also have a few uploaded too lol.
10:34 the fact this is my only death and it's the result of such a dumb, unnecessary decision is so on brand for me lmao
Ngl the getting stuck at the beginning was so true-

@care to give me some of that power 😭 (dva bombs are my worst enemy)
