YES!!!! God wants us to let go our pasts . but if we make a law out of this and try by our own willpower to do this we are not letting it go. we are BURYING IT where it will continue to fester and harm.
letting go is when you are led by His spirit in one on one relationship to admit the things we cling to and to repent of them as He leads us. and if necessary this will be in baby steps.
but it is done in RELATIONSHIP with Him as my wonderful counsellor. He will not remove them magically just because i say some words that appear to be a request
