Excellent explanation Imran. Thanks.
My pleasure
Super! Thank you for answering the question in the previous video so promptly!
No worries!
Interesting, I did wonder yesterday when watching your intro vid if they had addressed the SEO issues and also accessibility as I seem to recall that 'popup menus' are not good with screen readers and tab focusing etc. Thanks for the additional update.
Luv this and how there’s diff animation options
Cheers Imran, You told everything! I think that Pop Ups are better to be used for tricky display options, while Off-Canva is great to trigger a popup video, image or text... I agree that mobile menus will be much easier and quicker to build with Off-Canva.
Totally agree
Great video, thank you.
Personally, I've had loads of issues with off-canvas widgets opening and closing automatically. It seems a big buggy to me - hopefully it improves :)
I hope so too
So wait, before you said even with the Off-Canvas (that here it becomes clear that its content always shows up in DOM) we'd still have to insert a wordpress nav menu into the header and hide it, right?
Would it be solelly due to the distance between the and + tags, so SEO ranks it correctly in site links?
You don't need to add/hide Menu for the Off Canvas.
@@websquadron That's awesome, thanks for clarifying
Yep better. I use it all the time with Bricks. It saves time setting up template.
I love how Elementor copies more and more features from Bricks nonstop 🙃🙃
I confirmed my workflow, see what you think, and tell me if something is wrong as it appears to work fine:
1) Create Loop Item Template. Add Post Title and Post Content widgets. Set Query Source Type to Posts under the Loop Item's settings. Name it Off Canvas Post Content Template.
2) Open landing page I'm working on, Add Off Canvas widget. In its container, add the Loop Grid widget. Under Layout, choose Posts as template type, then type in the name you gave it in step 1. Columns 1, Items per page 1, Query source is manual selection, type in the name of the post you want to show. In the off canvas layout settings, you have to specify the width and height for the three device sizes too. Then when you make a button or link, specify the off canvas and it pops up the content of the single post I want to show.
Hi Imran, thanks for this great content. I wonder, if it is possible to create a menu with the icon list widget inside a off canvas widget and insert the html tag nav to the container. Is this okay for seo? 🙈😄 I dont like the menu widget, it is a little bit limited sometimes (submenu).
I have feeling that it wouldn’t be good for Seo unless tagged as a nav item
I am trying to add the widget to a menu (burger) element as an addition tmenhu in the header (built with list/icon elements). unfortunately I cant link the canvas menu, because it doesnt list the widget. So I am basically missing the point how I can save/store the canvas widget section in order to link it. any idea?
thanks but didn't you support that rendering off canvas popup menu in another content?!
Another draw back of popup i discovered is that if i want to use popup to show featured image of specific post on home page is not passible as this popup on home page will pull featured image associated with home page. Bit strange to me and after discussing same with support they said the same thing..
I hope that is not the case with off canvas..
can you do popular post with elementor? thank you..
Hey, Imran. Just a thought: as Off-Canvas is a widget, can't it be saved (once created) as a global widget? That way, it can be added as and when necessary.
Totally true and it could be re-summoned. Though I sometimes find the Global Widget fiddly.
Is it possible to have multiple off canvas "pop-ups" used on one page? Or is it just one off canvas per page? I am working on a landing page and want to pop up post content from different posts triggered by buttons so the viewer doesn't have to navigate away from the page. The only way I have found to do that is to use the loop grid with the post content widget to create a template, and then create pop-ups for each post content I want to display.
You should use the Off Canvas widget inside the Loop Template to return the dynamic fields/content for the posts.
Not sure I follow. So you're saying I need to create a loop template in the theme builder and add the off canvas widget to it? How then do you call it up with the post content inside it from the page you're working on? I thought the off canvas widget was specific to the page I'm working on?
@ see this: ruclips.net/video/bERknoxbvno/видео.htmlfeature=shared
@@websquadron Ok, I think I got it now. I create the loop item template, and add the post content widget to it. Then on the page I'm working on, I add the off canvas widget to the page, and drag in the loop, and for the query, I change to manual, and type in the name of the post I want to display, is that right?
@ no you add the off canvas into the template.
If the Elementor team doesn't announce it as a new way to create our menus for mobile, I doubt it will be SEO-friendly as we hope for.
Do we need to activate sth. in settings to use "Off-canvas" at the moment?
I just updated my ELementor + PRO and cannot see the widget anywhere....
Off-Canvas is currently only available in the 3.22-beta, and you need Nested Elements enabled on the website.
3.22 is expected to be released on July 9th.
@@NicholasZein thanks for the heads up. I actually updated it today but didnt check the version number. I also activated everything in the settings just to be on safe side assuming I might hit the right spot...Will check your input tomorrow and hope it works. I wanna test off-canvas too 🙂
Make sure you’re using the beta version on a test site
@@NicholasZein Is this beta version only available in specific countries? I just checked and I just updated the latest version which is in my case 3.21.7 (I literally updated to this version just 4 minutes ago). How the heck did you get 3.22 then? Is there a delay in updating Elementor for specific users or countries? Just wondering...
too limited just by the fact that it doesn't close automatically when selecting an option.
Have you added a close icon?
