- Brandy Guidry Aubé of Studio Aubé is a welder fabricator specializing in various metal work and functional art. This episode is set in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and highlights Brandy's career as a maker, how she began her welding journey, and where it has taken her.
"Native to the Lafayette, Louisiana area, Brandy has spent the better part of her life in Cecilia, Louisiana. While studying Industrial Design at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, Brandy began to direct her design focus towards mass-produced products. Still having a deep appreciation for the arts and understanding the significance of individualism, Brandy began to create what she has labeled as “functional art.” This functional art incorporates the design ideology of mass produced products with the uniqueness of individual pieces of art. This in turn creates pieces that consider both human factors as well as an aesthetic pleasure. She combines sewing, photography, and metalwork into a diverse repertoire of work ranging from furniture to fashion accessories" (excerpt from studio-aube.com).

Aubé should not be a ''difficulty'' to pronounce but there is so many earing differences (in some US of A places, overtime, as an example, the name Beaulne became Bone because people do not ear it well) As per Louisiana census, there is, still, 250,000 persons saying-stating french is there language. Some, as Jourdan Thibodeaux, Norbert Leblanc, Zacharie Richard and many others, continu not only to speak notre langue d'origine but make a point to emphasis it in every moment/aspect of their life and of/for their family, friends and general environment. @@brandyaube217 I work in a cnc machine shop full time. I do wood and metal working on the side. I do woodturning , some artistic and some for jobs. I do metal work on the side also, some jobs and some hobby. I also build recumbent bicycles as a hobby and plenty of other wild metal projects. Everyone probably thinks I'm nuts. I love all this kind of work.

Then we were informed that you were a WHAT, a WELDER? Really? The next day when I turned on my computer and of course, RUclips, your post popped up and I had to go there to check you out. I liked what I saw so much that I subscribed right away. I have to see where this will go. I live in Lake Charles, just our of Acadiana but with all the FOOD. How can anyone live and survive without our food? l was in the US Air Force for 20 years and swore that I would NEVER return here, but when I retired I came back and have been here for 45 years. I am 77 but enjoy locating your people that are talented and not afraid of getting the hands dirty and making unique things. You are very talented and I will be following you from now on. Thank you for sharing your story with the world.

Totally agree do it. You, april and others are EXACTLY what society and the world needs to inspire the kids growing up. Positive, hardworking role models who arent about fairness and who have worked hard to have real skills. Scrap the ridiculous influencers from fb tok tok Instagram and replace them with awesome ones like brandy and april. Trust me there are not enough string women out there to help encourage and be positive influencers for young girls
