this worked for me immediately. watched this during a close unranked h2h MUT game. won me the game. the guy was busting off big runs and I was getting pissed. good stuff here!
Haven't even paid attention to the run fits... probably why I've been doing terrible against the run... definitely gonna give this a try, preciate it!!
I've been usering the deep S and playing the alley..as well as shifting the DL to the field side when the ball is on the hashes. I force the guy to run to the boundary, if they run stretch...and again play alley with the S. I don't like shifting/spreading LBs, because I don't like screwing with their coverage drops
Ralph Mcafee 3-4 odd cover 4 show 2. If you know it's a counter shift your line to the side you think it is going and blitz the LB on the side of the run. There is basically two MLB. Blitz either depending on what side you think it is coming. Also recommend manually bringing down your safety to the side of the blitz. Not too far down just inside the box to support.
Still struggling with stopping the run and play action. Seem to be able to stop one or the other. Any advice for the TE crossing routes that will often be open?
William Terry The only way to stop TE is to cover them with your LB. the Lb should always be controlled by you. That way you have the middle of the field covered. If you dont user play with your LB they will throw across the center all day. Learn how to play d with your LB. it's tough at first. But you gotta do it. Good luck
If you have a Cover 4, yes. Otherwise, you won't have both safeties in the run fit by default. Just the way the game is. I highly recommend using Cover 4 for your run D.
can someone help? my run game is getting SHUT DOWN completely. people are mostly running cover 3 against my run plays and I just lose yards. even if they are sending 3 people it shuts down my run whether it be up the middle or to the sidelines. but when I run the same plays I get torched by it.
I don't know if you use the turbo button (RT on xbox) at the start of the play or not but if you do then stop doing that, wait until there is a gap to run through then hit the turbo button it also gives you more maneuverability at the line of scrimmage. I was having problems running the ball to so i looked up what to do on google and someone told me this and that was all i had to do and i;m running the ball a lot better. Hope this helps.
Front Strength = Calling an Over/Under Front (or shifting your DL/LBs if you like to come out in Odd/Stack defenses) to give you a mathematical advantage to the side that you think the ball is going. This is generally the strength of the offensive formation (TE side). Run Fits = Gap Integrity system that was introduced this year in Madden. On defense, hold the right stick to the right or left and you'll see play-art pop up on the screen pre-snap. This shows what gaps your defenders are responsible for on runs to the right/left. You will need to know the run fits on every down to know where you need to be on the play/where the CPU will be on the play for you. Leverage = Giving yourself angles with important players to make plays on the run. You don't want your 'Force' defender (labeled 'F') in your pre-snap run fit screen, to be head up on a TE. You typically want him to shade outside of the TE or WR (if compression) to 'set the edge' and force the run back inside to your linebackers and safeties who each should be doing their job in the run fit to fill their gaps.
Was down by two touchdowns, used this defensive method in the game came back and won. love this, thank you!

Another great tip Zan you're helping my game elevate thanks bro didnt really understand this feature great explanation
Absolutely my man! Let me know if you need help!
Haven't even paid attention to the run fits... probably why I've been doing terrible against the run... definitely gonna give this a try, preciate it!!
Hahaha, the run fits definitely help. There will be times you think you know your gap, then pull up the fits to find out you were wrong!
this is great, again thanks for your time and effort bro. this helps out a lot
Not a problem TJ!
Great tip Zan, I use the Texans playbook. I need some help with the Nickel 335. Not to many videos on that defense
Great job Zan!
Appreciate that Sim!
Great video Zan!
Thank you primetime!

Great suggest NY_Kia.
You just gained a new sub and new Twitter follower
Love it! Thank you Alex.
Damn it, Zan. There goes my secret...lol. The cover 4 was great at stopping the run last year too.
Sooooo good last year. They patched it. LOL
i just checked out this run D bro, im about to add 43 wide 9 to my custom right now thank you.
Great work Zan, I was in the lab working on something similar. would bluff blitzing your safeties work too?
Thanks Lonte. I appreciate the continued support.
I should be thanking you. I've been doing a little better vs the run and making people have to throw. Which plays into my hands.
What's the Orlando event you referenced and is there video of it? Nice vid, btw.
Thank you. I believe SportsGamersOnline has it archived here on YT.
+4wardProgressMadden Cool thanks again
THE RUN IS OVERPOWERED THIS YEAR. FAXXX
Not really.
+Micilo 419 and counters
I love you for this.
Thanks this tip definitely works I'm shouting down that run
Great to hear that!
so what's the set up u use
can you show blitz to help because I noticed when you show blitz the d plays the pass better
damn how i miss this vid def going to lab this tomorrow
Let me know if you like it!
XD thank you !!!!!!!! Everybody is chesseing that play really worked
@Zan what about the submetrical formations. SB ace tight and normal?
Id spread the LBs and bring the safeties each down a step like I did in the nickel portion of the video.
Hey Zan, do u bluff blitz both safeties too?
No I don't.
No I don't.
what is a good formation to stop the counter run out of the shotgun i been been having trouble stopin it

Thank you so much

whats the alley player?
Good video sir !!!!!
I like to to use the 335 odd . Depending on the team I'm using I put my SS as my nickel back . So will the cover in 335 odd work the way I run it
Nice! Thank you for sharing this.
What if they decide audible and just go up the middle?
Would a 46 D work the same as a 4-3 in this example?
If you have a Cover 4, yes. Otherwise, you won't have both safeties in the run fit by default. Just the way the game is. I highly recommend using Cover 4 for your run D.
Good Tip!!!!
Thanks Dre.
What if u put a safety at nickel?
He better be like Kam Chancellor!

Yeah I've heard about that and I do, I've been trying to break that habit and I've had some decent break through. Thanks !
nice
Thank you Victor!
It's still a little bit too easy to run in this game. It is much more fun than madden has been in a while though
I agree!
front lengths run fits etc...what is all this nonsense is it new in this years game or something lol? i literally just bought the game
