Unrelated to the video. My question is I have a song where vocals start on a 3 on Deck A. I want to mix that into an instrumental on Deck B. Do you mix deck A's vocal on the 3 of deck B's instrumental?
That would work, if the decks are tempo matched and you drop the vocal on the 3, both tracks will line up on the 1 of the new bar. You may find it helpful to place a hotcue on the 1 before the vocal, the 3 where the vocal starts and the 1 of the first downbeat after the vocal starts. Then you can play around and find the best way to mix it in to nicely match the beats and phrases of both songs🪩🔉🔉🔉
So in 2024 do you still use the hi, mid, low to transition or just stems? I find I still use the low knob to keep it simple but if I want to get fancy I use stems
For your first transition what happens if you have a lot of cue points already setup but want to add extra cue points like you did for the words? Just remove some of the older cue points?
Really informative thanks you, dont hesitate to show the whole process at normal speed after the explanation so we could visualise and hear better what you are talking about! Thanks for sharing ur time with us cheers!! 🎸
I can't wait 'til I'm able to scratch fluently like this.
Keep practicing, it’ll come 🙌🏾🙌🏾

I use stems more often than not. I still use the low end eq a lot when I’m mixing just to keep the bass mixed well when transitioning

Yup, that’s what I’d do. I usually like to leave a few cue points open for various use cases.
