Nah. It is perfectly natural for a human to stop feeling remorse after doing cruel things for too long. (Either willingly or forced by somebody else) By your logic butchers and anyone working in the food industry is a remorseless monster. And this is exactly why Vita tries to dissociate herself from the past. There's no reason for her to try to atone for her past. Not only would it not bring back the people she killed, but it would also make the "true freedom" she fought hard to achieve entirely worthless as she'd be a slave atoning for "Sa" 's sins.
