To think that Sean Penn only did this for the money because he hated the script. For something he hated, he knocked it out of the park with his transformation and character.
Penn ran circles around pacino in this movie. Incredible.
A true professional. Kinda reminds of how Ray Liotta didnt care about video games but when he did voice acting for Grand Theft Auto he gave 110% and a fantastic performance.

I remember seeing this movie in the theater when it came out. I was on the edge of my seat during this scene and didn't even know it, great movie.
I love all the running in dress shoes lol, they totally kept it real. Pacino's feet must have been killing him at the end of the day!

@@RW77777777 this movie is one of my favorites. If you like anything you see in this clip this film is a must watch. Its got so much going. The acting. The pace. The consistency. The depth of an otherwise cliche story. Its somewhat lost today, but i recommend checking it out 100%.

You know when I was a kid I preferred Scarface. But now that I’m an adult and have more insight I prefer Carlitos Way. It shows depth in a character and confliction thus humanity.

That fat old guy at the beginning its Jorge Porcel, an Argentinian comedy legend, mainly in the 70’ and 80’.
Al Pacino had a bit of a hard time trying to rehearse his lines with Mr. Porcel because Mr. Porcel didn’t know hardly any English.
@@jdrs4214 yes, i read some comments about it but didnt know. it was his last appearence in a film. He moved to Miami in 1991 and died there in 2006.
I remember seeing him as a kid. He had beautiful women in his shows .

That was quick thinking by carlito, all he needed was an excuse to go to the bar, where his money and the escape hatch were. Using the "cheap champagne" excuse was what saved him.

@@AlanFlores-vj4rm against cuts. A good leather jacket makes good armor against cuts and punches. A knife will go through shirt and hoodie like butter, or even worse, get stuck. But a good leather jacket can absorb a cut.

Best movie, Pacino as always unbeatable. Sean Penn- I didn’t like his acting until I saw him in this movie- one of his best roles. Loved his character.
He may have been annoying on “Colors”
But “Casualties of War” made me Dislike Sean Penn & them other 2 Actors for a Good While lol

Brian de Palma's masterpiece. Unforgetable
This has been one of my all time favorite films, but within the context of the film it was pretty damn cheap way to advance the plot by having Carlito say he didnt see Kleinfeld and then escape like that. ''Sure, I visited him at the hospital this morning. We're friends with Dave''. End of the story, completely normal. And even if the writers could justify it by saying the Italians would have shot him anyway, well being at his own club would offer him a much better chance of making it alive.
He had time to have got away, had he not ran in a straight line but ducked down the side streets.
He's the target of a mob family.
Highly recommended movie
One of Phil Something With The Hair's early jobs, before he turned into a house then had his hairdo crushed at gas station.

That guy was the late Jorge Porcel, an Argentinean comedic actor from the early 60's to early 90's, who alongside other great actors made many long lasting sketches and films which turned them into landmarks of humor in South America. Sadly in the mid 90's his health condition drastically deteriorated (Parkinson alongside severe overweight) and by the end of the decade he could barely move, let alone talk. He died in 2006 and was one of the last survivors of the original group which started in the 60's and in 2015 the last member (Gerardo Sofovich a man who started, acted and created many shows alongside Porcel) passed away forging the end of an era.
Comedic actors love to laugh I think he’d laugh at the connection.
