When I change the wax melters in the house I use cotton balls or nakins. Then use the wax soaked cotton as the fire starter. I find they burn better and longer than using Vaseline. The trick is to have a part that isn't coated, and it acts like a wick with the wax.
I was given a whole stump of fatwood (lighter-pine) and have a lifetime supply of clean and wonderfully smelling natural firestarter. I use a woodburning stove and having an endless supply of fatwood changed my life! My stove is bulky, but lighter than most fuel cylinders. And I do multiple coffees, so not worrying about fuel is very nice. I'm cheap too, fuel cylinders are expensive.

Good idea! The firelighter I use is Ting Tong Ramadangdang. I take her camping and she does the washing up too.

I can't tell if you're kidding! 😂 I'll have to try that one. Although I'm not sure I can stand sacrificing my poor Fritos to the flames

Fritos is legit. Almost any nasty chip will work. The good chips work too! 😆
