- Hey guys this is my first RUclips video and first video I've ever put together myself so bare with me! I will be putting together videos of my CLS and my Passat wagon on this channel and hope to grow my car collection and mod list as my channel progresses. I apologize in advance for my grammar not being perfect.

One of the prettiest sedans ever created.. can’t wait to get my hands on one.. they come from the factory a monster so I can only imagine how it’ll be with some extensive work done to it 😈

Class, elegance & preformance
For some reason here in Germany there are more forgotten than anywhere else. It's crazy how many newer amgs you see driving around, compared to the let's say 2006-2013 era aswell. It lost it's speciality somehow.
I mean I see it's cheaper to drive turbos and 1 or 2 liter less engine......
But when you see how cheap you can get really good older models.
Damn I take an old cls, cl or s class of the last generation over everything from today every day.
Each had their own identity, today they all look the same.
Show me any mercedes of today that has the insane lines of the old cls. Good luck with that.

@@affiliatedamghi many kind of model are. old c and e models not durable maybe only olds. production date matters, and engine size in few countries year tax cheaper. in few place cls55 and 63 almost same money.
I was going to look at one tomorrow. 600+ hp with the pulley and intercooler mods. Clean title, only 68k miles for $18,000. A little pricey but such low miles.

Got mine about 1.5 years ago unmolested with 88K. I love this thing. Put it in Dyno Mode and lay 11's anywhere you want for as long as you want. VRP cooling upgrade and now will come the pulley/tune! It's hard not to drive this thing like a total dick.
Never forgotten.. a proper classic. I've got mine parked up in my Garage

My dad owned the original E55, the facelift version, and he also had a very rare CLS500 with a V8. And now I have a C63.
The CLS55 is neither 'forgotten' or 'unappreciated' by people who have driven AMG's. Its styling has 'aged' beautifully even for 2022. A truly stunning design. The issue is that like the S class, it kinda just feels a waste to have an AMG engine inside. With an AMG, you want a lighter and more nibble model that you can enjoy on a track etc. The CLS55 was nearly 5 meters long and it also weighed nearly 2 tonnes. It is a beautiful cruiser and wonderful on long drives. I try and have a bit of fun with the car 2-3 times a year when taking it on a track. I couldn't possibly turn up with a CLS55 - would just look silly. But as a daily driver and for the motorway, it is a fantastic car. Realistically, it is a car made for German motorway. The very few places where you can reach desirable speeds, but won't be hit with a ticket.
Ps. Those alloys are horrendous. Sorry.
In Germany this car is rarely seen anywhere if not at all anymore, it ceases to exist as well as in the US. I’ve personally only seen one other cls55 in the US in person and it was last week at a car event in Ten. The wheels are all black now but seemed everyone loved them over three years. I assure you the speeds it can reach have been met with no issues.
@@affiliatedamg it is a car that's nearly twenty years old so in more 'richer' countries it is bound to be rare! But I do still see cls63's from that generation in London from time to time!
I'm just more of a traditionalist! Too much of a contrast but of course we all have different tastes! Shame about the idiot drilling the dash 😩
@@recruitmentch there’s a lot going on with this car right now, that includes wrapping the dash black like one of the options that was presented by factory, and fixing the hole.
Lol I feel you, I feel cls look best with 20 inch wheels and straight spokes.

The E55 gets the most love because it is the lightest AMG you can get with the M113K in the states.
I’ll preference this by saying I’m looking to buy a 2010 cls 63 AMG. But wow … this 09 looks and is amazing. Definitely helping me stay focused on getting a 2010. Dope car!
Its an 06.. Thats the only year they came in 55. It was 63 from then on.

I just got one with 160 for $7000 was supposed to be 6 but I wasn’t gonna turn down the car since it was off a trade I know I can’t come along one everyday and book went up the first day of owning it

@@wet_e92 my bad for the late reply but yes I ended up getting it , if you did buy it I suggest getting rid of the airmatic suspension asap or at least that’s what I did. Definitely fun & reliable car for the time I had it ! If you’re looking to upgrade on performance I suggest getting a tune by ProjectA!

I have the W215 chassis CL55 Coupe. These cars are stupid nice and almost no one even knows what they are.

Quick question bro what’s the specs on the tire? Is it 305/25/20 in the rear?? And what’s the staggering on the wheels ? 20x9 in front and 20x10.5 or 11 in the rear?
I’ve been thinking about getting a 2006 E55, 2006 CLS55, 2004 SL55 amg. Or a M5 E60 with the beautiful V10
was never into mercedes but there seems to be so many good old gems between 2000-2010! that look great and keep up with newer cars like e55 vs scats lmao
UI love CLS 55, I had CLS 55AMG Renntech for like 7 years put to 220k miles, was taking off traffic lights every day without failures like in BMWs. Transmission is very strong. Hey throw those carpets away, really make interior look cheap.

The CLS55 was NOT only Produced in 2006! What you mean to say is that it was only sold in the US in 2006
Tell me the other years the cls55 was made then. There are no 05 or 07 cls55. Lol.

Greetings from Australia could you please give the all the stats re the ferrada fr4 wheels i got the size, width and colour ok but the other numbers confuse me. I'll go for 19" diameter and 8.5" width. thanks for a great vid. mine is dead stock i'm deleting the secondary cats just to get more sound. the VRP kits look good. do you recommend a dyno tune after getting the vrp bigger heat exchanger and the 010 Bosch pump upgrades, these are the only mods I'm considering for the foreseeable future

@@AGLIBABY well.. it is a sandwich combination of a thin layer of the actual wood you do see and a few layers of aluminum and simple wood... in my opinion it is barbaric anyway to drill a hole in it..

What bilstein coilovers do you have? I just converted to bc and I definitely enjoy the peace of mind but would definitely be interested in the higher quality ride. I had bilstein struts on my Lexus gs400 before and loved them.

Get one well maintained and low miles and you’ll be alright.
I got my 2006 in Sept. She had 148000 km on it and had a rough life before I got her. (Not close to as clean as AffiliatedAMGs) Put over 8,000 klm on her before putting her away for the winter. She had needed nothing. Will need new rear tires though....:)

No engine problems. My sbc pump just failed but they are replacing for free. Other then that w the low miles I have I haven’t had to rebuild anything. I recommend a m113k now because one day you will have trouble finding one.

Carbonio, was early 2000s released for over $2k. Got it from a buddy totaled cls55 for $300.

What high performance CLS is the most reliable? Would it be the naturally aspirated CLS63 even though it has more power?
The older 63 needs heads done at 100k. I wouldn’t recommend buying one without that done. Newer ones I definitely recommend. The 55 overall maintenance I feel is better than the same w219 63.

25 sidewall in back 30 in front will blow lll this car can litterly hild 325/25 or 305/30 for the back. 255/30 or 265/30 for the front you tires look to narrow with a low side wall
