Thanks bro, the tutorial really helped me perform a copy operation now as i did not want to enable bucket versioning since i did not notify the customer of that action and was stucked at what to do to transfer files across S3 buckets in the same region. Thanks for the video tutorial.
Great work Daniel! Will this also copy the folder structures from source? Let's say I have files inside several folders that I want to copy. Thanks in advance!
Hi great video I'm new to AWS and started a E-Careers course a few weeks ago for architect professional qualification so I was just wondering what the difference between DataSync and simply using the move function in s3 buckets to move an object?
As far as I understand DataSync provides more control over how, when and what files you want to move. For example enabling versioning is mandatory when you use the move function between s3 buckets. Also you could schedule events whereas the s3 is working on a trigger-base.
Thank you for covering DataSync, I was not familiar with it. And for linking to that AWS blog post!
You're very welcoem bob! Glad you enjoyed :)
saved my day, thanks so much!

Hi Rick, it will definitely work for all files within the bucket and their sub folders.
Will this datasync work copy from one S3 in one ac to other bucket in diff ac ?
Any chance you have the flexibility to do more of a linux "mv" so you can also rename the file?
Obrigado pelo vídeo, ajudou muito!
It is possible to copy one file data to another file on same bucket
Hi Buddhabeb, this should be possible using the same method.
