Did some work for the boss man and got his Kawasaki bayou 220 going still needs some work but got it running after setting for 2 years. I just learned today that he has a honda Foreman he is giving me so I'll have a 4 wheeler to run the fences on and help with the farm work. It'll be my fist one ever to own or be on.
We just bought a great running 1995 Honda Fourtrax 300 4x4 that is in great condition for $800. If you hold out, the good deals eventually come around.
My uncle helped me with my Honda (1993 Fourtrax 300 2x4) and when we did the air filter he put some oil or some fluid on the air filter. Do other people do that? He does small engine repair for a living so I'm guessing he knows but didn't see you do it here and wondering if its optional or recommended, etc. Also, great video, thank you. I'm buying another Fourtrax similar to what you bought to have a second one at the cabin, learned a lot and bookmarked it while I find my next project! Thanks
Yes you can add oil to the filter depending on what kind of filter you buy. I personally would not put oil on a paper filter but K&N air filters come with oil a lot of times.
Those filters should be oiled up already when new. If you wash and dry a used one re-oil it with a lil motor oil or if you want to get real fancy use a foam filter oil which is the same idea but is thicker and sticky. I think the idea there is to make the bigger dirt stick on the outside of the filter before it can get sucked in. Either Honda dealer here is over an Hour away, local place sold me some Yamalube oil for that it’s like syrup compared to motor oil
I have a 1998 honda foreman 400 that used fo start after buying a new battery now it doesn't even crank nor dash lights light up. If I bypass the solenoid it cranks. Also 30 Amp fuse was blown. Any help would be appreciated
Reminds me of the 90s when if you rolled up to the duck blind or hunting fields in a Foreman, you were in high cotton.
Great machines.
Hard to beat a good ‘ol Honda!

I have a 98 foreman 400 4wd.
Pretty bullet proof machine I like mine ☺️
You need to oil the air filter lightly.
Thats in really nice shape. The after market head light are impossible to find for the 400s
Give it a prime with the pump at the bottom of the carb
Thanks. I learned something.
Would love to have that machine or a Honda 3004x4
It sure is handy around here. I love it!
Hmm.. could’ve swore the oil filter goes big hole to the engine.. looks like you went the other way around
no, hole away from motor. i slide my air filters up farther on the can than he does, i think you suppose to.
Hola cuantas vueltas tiene el tornillo piloto de la mezcla del carburador?
I think I did 1-1/2 and adjusted from there.

I would start by checking the ground battery cable where it attaches to the frame. Definitely sounds like you aren’t getting power from the battery.👍
