would you consider making a video about each unit, describing archetype / ideal build in like 2-3 sentences very surface level? there’s just so many units i don’t know much about any of them
In modern FE, pretty much everything is viable for everyone in Normal & Hard (dunno about Maddening) You can just stick to promoting (instead of reclassing, except maybe for Alear & Yunaka who really benefit from it, I made my Alear into a Bow Knight with Lucina's Ring and she's a beast both with Bows & Swords): all the "Lord" characters have a promotion to their unique class, otherwise you should opt for the class that gives the best bonuses overall (ie Great Knight on Louis instead of General since you trade like 2 def for +2 mov, which is arguably the best stat lol) What really matters in Engage are the Emblem Rings. You should give them to someone who can fully utilize them to their best extent (for example Diamant really likes Ike's boosts to def & strenght, making him a beast againt anything physical, Kagetsu works really well with Lyn's skills that makes you double at start of combat, etc etc etc) Also you shouldn't skip on Bond rings, since the S rank ones may give some really nice skills (you can check on the internet but for example Ryoma's, Claude's and Seliph's are pretty spectacular when you can't afford to give an Emblem to everyone)
I honestly think Lucina might be in the running for one of the strongest Emblems, but I do feel that her power isn't as obvious as someone like Sigrud. Between Bonded Shield being able to effectively negate any damage if your allies are fast enough, her chain attack skills softening up foes for your allies, being able to hold choke points with her giant evade bonus, her solid weapons, and her Engage attack being able to rip most bosses to pieces if set up properly, I don't think there's a single skill she has that I look at and think "eh, that skill is whatever, I'd rather have this one though."
Michaia is too hard to beat in the support role imo. The staff versatility in this game is already nuts and on top of the fact with her you can warp and rescue 4 units at a time in one turn with the help of a dancer is disgustingly busted.
@Rapidcola I agree that Micaiah is very strong. Unfortunately I didn't realize that her staff aoe range applied to all staves including warp and rescue until chapter 10. So far my top Emblems are Lucina, Micaiah, and Sigurd.
@@conorb.1901 call me crazy but i think there is no bad emblem, they are pretty broken for their own reasons for me at the Moment ike is the strongest, he made diamant totally unkillable, he heals back up with sol and ike halves enemy dmg when he falls under 75% health
@Sakutaro〈3musik I agree that there is no bad Emblem, but some of them are definitely stronger than others. Honestly, from the ones I've used so far (just got Corrin), Roy is probably the one I'd put at the bottom of my list. He's not bad by any means, I can think of several strategies that I can make work because of his skills, but from when I used him (which wasn't for very long) I was kind of unimpressed, I guess.
The thing is that on maddening enemies won’t attack you if they have 0% hit rate BUT this is technically an ability so the ai attacks anyways that is truly broken
So, Triangle's deathball is back. I still remember the tactics with Flanagan and his Rampart. Really glad to see you covering Fire Emblem now. Earned yourself a sub that I really should've dropped way back then.
@@LM11116 Not nessecarily. There are plenty of situations where dancing may not serve much purpose with your current unit positioning. and if you're trying to draw in enemies, dancing a unit and moving them again may just put you out of position. Especially since Engage is a VERY player-phass oriented game on Maddening
You can also do something similar with Lyn's doubles. Create the doubles, rescue the Lyn user, then bonded shield. As long as you aren't dealing with backups it's an effective way of dealing with numerous enemies safely. Make sure your Lucina user is some kind of tank to avoid being attacked by the enemies you are trying to pull.

I would love to see a video on every unit. Haven’t bought the game yet but I like to know and analyze the mechanics of the emblem game mechanic for each one so I can use them to their maximum potential. Plan to get it next week.
Wait what, the description says "Use to prevent FIRST attacks on adjacent allies" I THOUGHT IT MEANT ONLY THE FIRST ATTACK OF THE PHASE, but i think it means if the unit gets doubled, they only get 1 hit, SO A FAST UNIT/ONE THAT DOSNT GET DOUBLE GETS IT FOR THE ENTIRE PHASE, SHIT I BEAT MADDENING AND HAD NO IDEA.
this is another thing that makes me sad that Alear doesn't retain dragon or divine dragon as a secondary trait or something no matter her class, because I refuse to take her off of Divine Dragon 😢
Awakening is the reason we can't have a Divine Dragon Martial Master (that would be COMPLETELY broken, not that the MM and DD classes aren't already). Flashing Fist with THAT stat line and team support? Cracked.
I literally stumbled on this on my first play through because I had seen your triangle Strat videos about death ball, and thought ,wonder if this can work the same way? 😂
Thanks to you, I just used this strategy to beat the Ike Paralogue on maddening. I had Ivy holding the right choke with hortensia bonded shield, and her speed was high enough where she never got doubled and was 2-shotting almost everything. Then I had Louis solo stuffing the bottom choke, and the left choke I had Alear creating endless ice walls with Corrin's dragon vein, and had Seadall dancing him so he could even double up on walls if he needed. Eventually when too many were on the left, I used torrential roar to freeze them all in place for a turn as we moved right. Each turn, I tried to move my formation a little further to the right, so I could get the energy to refill Lucina's engage. Alear and Kagetsu were really effective at bursting down the weaker reinforcements as we moved right. As we cleared a path, I had Louis still stuffing the little stairway til we were in position. Then I had him standing beside the bonded shield formation to cut off one of the angles for ranged enemies to hit Hortensia in the middle. The nice thing too is that Hortensia's resistance is SUPER high, so mages couldn't really hurt her, and there's only a couple enemies with physical ranged weapons. By the end of it, I burned through a second set of shields, and had Ike down to low HP but couldn't kill him that turn. So I used dragon vein to make a vein of fog, which increased everyone's avoid, and sure enough our deathball managed to dodge all the hits in the last enemy phase. All in all, definitely the most satisfying paralogue to overcome. Defending the choke points and nuking all the armor knights with Ivy just feels awesome! And when Ike smashes through all the rubble it's so intimidating xD Thanks for the strategy man!
I found a way to do this indefinitely. What you need is a fully upgraded Liberation, Lucina on Alear, a dancer and another unit with Byleth` to use Godess Dance. Basically when Lucina runs out you attack somebody with Liberation, preferably kill them, use Seadall on Alear to attack and kill again, use 2 other units to attack and position Alear, Seadall+2 other units so that the Byleth user can Godess Dance them, attack with Alear again, dance him and he`s back to engage mode. Rinse and repeat. Yeah all those units probably need Canter but you got a deathball of 5 units that can destroy almost any map while being invincible.
The guy saying Lucina is the worst emblem clearly either can't read or hasn't understood anything about the game, just the Dual Assist+ that is given to the wearer for free with just bond level makes it top 3 emblem if not the best, you can just guard and still provide damage on player phase. To complete this, using Favorite Food from Celica to max out engage meter again gives you 8 turns of engage+guard at the start.
Its a pretty good tactic. Its countered by backup enemies so if you run this or need to fall back on it, focus on thinning the backup units. They will wreck the mages. In this case a character with Alacrity helps. Enemies that attack twice in a turn will break it as well. Both of these things are happening more as i get later in the game. Pair Up skill helps. but its SP cost is expensive. Honestly im surprised its 100% on anything. But i guess this covers you if you dont have a Qi adept on your team.

To be honest, I don't know how I would have beat the waifu mom in the end of the game without bonded shield and Corrin's fog. That two skills are my only solution in maddenning for the chapter 21 and the penultimate mission
It's still useful on maddening. Just the last few chapter where spd of some units might be more than 35 might be an issue. But it's good enough to deal with most of the mobs.
