It really doesn't make sense why they didn't. Maybe it was all the cheesy, bad groups that made the more uneducated, ignorant people think *NSYNC were the same. When lyrically, vocally and sonically they were number 1. They were too ahead of their time, don't forget the choreography either. They were an idol group fused with an a capella five part vocal harmony group. Now you get a Grammy for your pop culture impact alone, which *NSYNC also had.

At the time, he gained some weight, and he had a beard-he looked the grown man he was. JT and JC kept themselves clean shaven with light stubble (if sporting it). That allowed them to be more marketable in terms of appearance since a majority of fans were young girls. It's a dirty business where pure and honest talent is overlooked because of appearances.

@@johnniec2861 most people apparently dont realize how much both chris amd Joey meant to the group I mean both individually had beautiful voices and idk why they didn't get more solos than they did...but beyond that point it was their voices that held the harmony together (especially joey because with his range he could go up near chris's range and drop all the way down into the baritone range to fill the gap between justin/jc and Lances ranges
I think JC toned it down too much in this performance to let the other guys come through. Makes me sad, because this is "his" song, his full circle moment with Richard Marx. JC's strong, high notes were missing here. 😢

This is the first time I've heard the sound engineers properly balance all the vocal parts for NSYNC. They usually make Chris' or JC's mic too loud during the pure a capella parts. It ends up drowning or Joey who I usually can't hear well. Can't leave a comment without praising the legend JC of course. Greatest tragedy in the history of music that he hasn't put out another album.
