Indian manufacturers are after low cc cheap bikes only. Meanwhile RE is going out of the box and as a result their market share and sales have increased in Europe and the USA. RE has established a new definition of affordability and quality nowadays. 650 twins are very special, specially at the price point. On the other hand, the Chinese revolution has been started in motorcycling. Chinese giants are buying big Italian brands and also doing a lot of R&D. They are developing one after another big cc i.e. middleweight and high end bikes continuously. Days are not far away when Chinese will shadow the whole two wheeler market everywhere. Big Japanese brands have been there quite for a long time, but they are costlier to maintain and their spare parts are also... I think Chinese will work on this issue and gradually capture the whole market. Indian brands need to uplift their engine capacity, quality and marketing to establish themselves. Till date only Bajaj & TVS have only developed two platforms ( with the help of KTM & BMW) which are internationally sold and critically acclaimed. Indian manufacturers need to go for R & D.
By far, India brands completely dominate the Chinese brands overseas in terms of sales and profit. Because Chinese bikes have the same old problem.. they're cheap cash grabs. Indian Bikes are big overseas, but the point is that pointlessly large machines aren't useful to the majority of the people of the world. And the reasonable bikes that can be used for everything, India has it mastered for decades.
