The opposite of being blessed…is not being blessed. So be mindful when you say you’re “blessed” you’re also implying someone else is not being “blessed”. And what god would “bless” a whole country of people with clean water and food and then doesn’t “bless” another country of innocent people?!!

      They tried to hide an obsuate the fact that they got millions in donations, and left you a bunch of shotty trailers, and some other rumors involve them taking orphans out of the country illegally.

I had lost contact with my squad in a favela, I was carefully trying to head towards the starting point, in an alley I ran into a guy. mf was 6.5 tall or more, he had an AK in his hand and a row of ammunition around his neck, it looks like a scene from a movie... I fired two dispersal shots in his direction, there was nowhere to run, there was only one column to I could hide but the column only hid 40% of my body, he madly started shooting in my direction, in that moment I was sure I was going to die, a distance of 30 meters between me and him, while he was shooting I crouched down to reduce my area of impact and I fired 5 times in his direction. in the blink of an eye he disappeared, I never knew if I hit him or not, at the end of it all I realized that I had been shot in the hand, I didn't lose a finger, thanks god im alive, after that I took 2 months of vacation in miami and then I returned to my country (brazil); i have a VHC of the whole 8 months i spend there

    I was there for three days in 2017. Port-au-Prince was complete disaster, however I did manage to sleep in the bushes outside the airport safely and walk around the airport side of town. I tried walking north east and hitching rides, managed to get 2-3 on mini buses then an English speaking local that I talked to and passed picked me up and said stay at his as it was getting late evening. We went to some shanty backstreets and got some food. I went back out at night and had some beers and the guy I was with was introducing me to everyone. It got quite overwhelming. The next day he talked to a bus driver and I managed to get a free ride to cap-haitien via the same route you went. I then took some photos of people jumping into the polluted river from the bridge. After that I went straight to border by minibus to get out of there as it felt dodgy AF. The border closed at 9pm and I had to wait until the next day to get out, loads of locals crossing border and climbing over closed gates. That was all before the kidnappings started...very dicey place indeed!!!

    What Sean is saying is that Haiti is a country of total lawlessness. Thank you Nick for taking us to Haiti. It's a true eye opener to actually see how these poor people (the Civilians) have to survive dad by day. And we in the US take it for granted what luxuries we have, even if its just a safe place to lay your head at night and wake up in the morning knowing you are safe for another day. You know what I mean.

    • @MrTLinSTL
      @MrTLinSTL Год назад

      This is basically how it is throughout the world. The darker the area, the more lawlessness. White people created the rule of law and high trust society.

It continues to render me speechless seeing what is going on in Haiti. As always, please stay safe, Nick, and thank you for the tremendous work you do.

      Tell that to certain groups of Nigerians, always complaining about crap.
      Though unfortunately, Nigeria isn’t far fetch either.🤷🏾‍♀️. However, at this rate Nigeria might be a tiny bit okay.
      No matter what situation you’re in either good or bad…….somebody somewhere is having it also good or bad. The levels might just be different.
