Phil, since your channel started, I have been able to learn how to set up and maintain my guitars. This week I actually got paid to crown and polish his frets and give him what I call the McKnight special set up. Just wanted to say thank you for teaching me how to do my own work. Perhaps set ups and preventative maintenance can be a side gig for me now. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
that amp sound amazing! I purchased a combo version of the Overdrive Reverb a month ago...your video demo of that amp is what drove me to actually get it....when I first started communicating with Taylor (Amplified Nation owner) he told me the amp was like a musical instrument in itself. there is so much character to the tones out of this amp. amazing amps they are building! makes you want to play and play and play......
I went to see Taylor to pick up an SSS. I tried out a few amps while I was there and this was one of them. Sold everything I needed within 3 weeks so I could own this amp. For me and the tones I like, this is by far the best amp I’ve owned
The guy that makes these Amplified Nation amps is a genius. They all sound amazing. Also this would be a great amp to use in a speaker comparison video, Greenback vs Creamback vs Vintage 30.
When you crank the gain up as high as it would go into the thick, sludgy sound, I thought man this would be perfect for doom! Thanks for another great vid Phil!
Finally someone who understands how to demo reverb. Short, percussive strokes! Most of the time people try to demo reverb, they play only sustained notes, which is useless as it completely masks the reverb.
And both require you to take a second mortgage to own, lets not forget that part. Might have something to do with why you see so few of them- just a guess.
Not many demos of the newer Magnatones online but Andertons have a nice thorough video and the full fat Twlighter Stereo must be the nicest clean amp sound I've ever heard. Just absolutely beautiful and that stereo vibrato sounds so cool. When I can comfortably afford one I'm definitely going for it. I wouldn't want to get one of their mono versions as they are stil very expensive but lack that stereo which is like their signature sound. Would be like getting a Ferrari with a 4 cylinder engine - still beautiful and expensive, but you'd be wishing everyday you'd paid that little bit more for the classic V8. Would be interesting to see how those Classic series Magnatones sound with modern, aggressive distortion pedals or as a poweramp for a Quad Cortex or similar. I love my high gain metal tones but of course the Magnatones aren't designed for that. But they do appear to be incredibly clean pedal platforms with a load of headroom so I'm sure they would handle any pedal or digital modeller nicely - just be interesting to hear if they actually make pedals/modellers sound better due to the tube warmth or if they would be clean enough to add no colour at all unless you wanted some. Although I suppose the ideal solution for the guitarist who appreciates both beautiful cleans and modern Djent grinds would be to have both a Magnatone and a high gain firebreather such as an Engl or Mesa...and an appropriately large wallet too, which currently rules me out of that club.
I bought one of these amp. EL34s, 50W switchable to 25W. I sold all my other amps, except for a vintage MusicMan. The A&G is stunning and the feel it gives, the intangible responsiveness to my hands is impossible to describe. Great amp
Ok Phil now I have to sell a kidney and other organs and bodyparts I dont need . That amp was amazing. One of the best I ever heard , and I got a Friedman 50 BE Deluxe . But I still want that amp you played in a100 watt with 4 EL-34 tubes.Holy shit man 😍 Here in Norway it will be 5 K with shipping and taxes , but I dont care what some people say . Amps on that level are worth every penny . The craftmanship on that level you can't compere to massproduced Marshalls and Fender. Its a love of sound and hard labor so the price is fair. Thanks for a fantastic video Phil .
Great video. They're actually located about an hour north from me and there is a store or two kinda in my area that sell them. Definitely going to go and try them out.
Not sure what made me smile more the reverb tone I heard or you smiling at the reverb tone when I looked down at my phone to see what I was listening too. Obviously we both had the that's a sweet tone moment happening upon hearing it.
You make this amp sound a lot better than their sites demo. Very organic sounding amp. Luv it. Would need to hear this amp in person before I could buy it.
Ok I won’t pretend like I don’t tone chase because I really do! This amp is seriously blowing me away! I’m loving this amp! I want one of these! The whole Bassman-Plexi is exactly my thing! I have a Crate Stealth 50 from the 90’s that was designed by Lee Jackson. It has this same type of sound. I know the designs are different enough that it makes me really want it. I feel like just what you’ve shown here that I’ll love it!
I have to 2nd frishdawg's comment!! Sounds amazing and I never thought you were going to get that much out of that amp!! I'm going to be looking at those. Man I'm really impressed the more I watch. If you didn't see that amp you would think it was a big heavy amp. Anyway to get discounts? Not to be a jerk!!
Haha, I have that same blue-sparkle strat hanging on your wall. It's a Guitar Center exclusive Squier. I got mine on a huge sale, like $100. After upgrading nearly "everything" it became my #1 until it just simply wore out. Now it hangs on the wall just like yours!
I had an Egnater Renegade Combo with four 10" speakers in it...probably my favorite switchable tube amp I ever owned...(usually I have guitar sell regret, but I think that is the only amp selling regret I have)...it has 2 power sections in it: one section was EL34 loaded, and the other section was loaded with no 6L6's...and it had this blend knob, to where it could be cranked full on a 6L6's, full on EL34's, or a blend ratio of both...I preferred the tone quality of EL34s (as you said in this video was your choice of power tubes for this amp) in most tone chasing situations. Thanks for the video, Phillip, hope you and yours are doing great.
That sounds spectacular. Didn't catch what the price is, but amps today are so refined that it's making playing so inspiring. Absolutely spectacular. And, it's a smaller profile head too. That clean is SOOOOO warm. This amp really shined when you used that Strat. It got muddy the more gain you used. I think I preferred the less gain setting. It was more articulate. Great demo!
Nice amp, nice SG. Reminded me of my '72 Gibson SG with abalone block inlays. Same round and warm growl and roar and huge bottom end, total killer after changing fresh strings. Please, next time when playing Strat, adjust the camera zoom so that the pick-up selector switch position can be seen.
From Leo: Reverb is a big part of my sound. There are many amps that are interesting that lack reverb. It is good to know this company was good enough to install a real spring unit.
At almost $5k this thing is just too damn expensive. Worth it, yes, for sure. But this, and other gear like it, are why people are moving to all digital.

From the first note you played that amp sounded absolutely killer, so punchy and dynamic
that amp sound amazing! And this, my brothers, is why we’ll always love “real” amps... Phil’s joy when achieving certain tones is so contagious on this vid.
Have to agree real amps are "electric"
3:23 and 3:38 (that run of playing) gave me goosebumps! That sounds incredible, great player as well.
That sounds incredible. We hear and play through lots of amps, and then you hear one like that. Wow.
I completely understand why you love the plexi style amp but for me the Overdrive Reverb was next level tone. I’m saving up to order one of my own.
How much?
I just got my overdrive reverb today, it is the best amp I have ever played!
About $4000.@@maspesasmasperras5554

yes, that guy is definitely a genius...... I wish I could afford one...
@@curtiseverett1671 Me too, maybe someday I'll get lucky and come across a used one that I can afford
He sure is..I have this amp and sss and they are life changing
kkkkkkk yes the Malaysian is who is the Genius Ceriatone its his inspiration for copied
@@connorryan5811 what power tubes does your SSS have? I can't decide how many watts I want.
The last time I saw Phil this excited…wait…I’ve never seen Phil this excited over a piece of gear🤪
I love the look too with the colored knobs. Sounds great
When you crank the gain up as high as it would go into the thick, sludgy sound, I thought man this would be perfect for doom! Thanks for another great vid Phil!

Quite a coincidence, I was going to look for an old Q&A to watch, and here's this premiere!
One of the best tones I've ever heard on youtube, honestly
I closed my eyes and fell into the 1970s. Name your band, and play that song. Perfection.
Amplified Nation and Magnatone are the two most underrated amps I have ever come across. They are both absolutely epic.
And both require you to take a second mortgage to own, lets not forget that part. Might have something to do with why you see so few of them- just a guess.
1st amp I bought, back in the mid-50s, was a magnate and it was great...built to last forever.
Tell that to the price tag
Best amp ever is Crate

You’re the best, Phil!

I love it! I have Amplified Nation taste but a Boss Katana budget….I better start saving!
Sounds beautiful. The first chord you hit had that Bassman vibe.
Fat tone man for sure. I’m a strat guy and this video appealed to me greatly
Now that's what an amp should sound like!
Ok Phil now I have to sell a kidney and other organs and bodyparts I dont need . That amp was amazing. One of the best I ever heard , and I got a Friedman 50 BE Deluxe . But I still want that amp you played in a100 watt with 4 EL-34 tubes.Holy shit man 😍

Very musical sounding amplifier, great find!
outrageous appearance and an outrageous amp - thanks Phil!
Great video. They're actually located about an hour north from me and there is a store or two kinda in my area that sell them. Definitely going to go and try them out.
Wow it seems to do all of those sounds equally well. Absolute beast of a machine
Sounds awesome and your reaction is priceless excellent video thanks
Nice! You’re playing a keeper!
Looks cool. I like amps with the knobs on the front
I've heard em all over the decades, and boy, with the Strat that's one of the best-sounding amps I've ever heard. Wow.
You're welcome
Yeah, I agree, that strat sounded incredible.
Beautiful SG. Amazing tone and chug. Set it at 1:00 and all hell breaks loose.
Not sure what made me smile more the reverb tone I heard or you smiling at the reverb tone when I looked down at my phone to see what I was listening too. Obviously we both had the that's a sweet tone moment happening upon hearing it.
Thru my cell phone, this amp sounds AMAZING! Then I used headphone, WHOA!! I can only imagine it’s tone in the actual room.
Hell Yeah sounds sweet!
This was an amazing demo. So good.
Thanks for adding extra detail links in the description
That thing sounds amazing!
Outfreakingstanding. Jaw dropping great. I don't know what else to say
Very full sounding with note separation, but also still percussive! Talk about the Goldilocks of amps! Just SICK!!
I know what my next big purchase is gonna be! Those amps sound incredible. Was looking at an Imperial, but gonna have to make a change,
Hi Phil, very well reviewed. You opened up my ears to the different sound nuances of multiple amps. Thank you. Cheers ✌️🎸
Man that sounds Great!!!!
You make this amp sound a lot better than their sites demo. Very organic sounding amp. Luv it. Would need to hear this amp in person before I could buy it.
That sounded SO GOOD. I’m considering getting one now.

That sure is the sound. Excellent amp, I could listen to it all day long. I have a self built HRM clone that can get into this territory. Nice demo!
yep thats the sound, awesome
That sounds AMAZING.
I dont get excited about gear as much now as i used to but man this amps got me excited thank phil you the man as always
Damn that thing sounds great!!
It looks sick. I love the coloured knobs. Worth a kidney.
Glorious
Fantastic amp, wow 🤘🏻
Wonderful tones
Great amp. Great demo. Caught the Skynard. Love it!

Andrews A-22 is the best plexi amp I've ever heard - and by far. Hard to find but wow. The A-50 too
After watching this video again. That's really a great sounding amp. You have good taste Phil.
Great review, kudos sir.
That sounds badass!!!! I’d love to have one!

Love that SG!!
Looks and sounds killer! Looks like another one to add to the "if I win the lottery" wishlist. =D
Great playing too.

Damn ! I want one now , more than ever . It sounds bloody fantastic 😍
Let’s get a Tonex capture of this!!
Definitely I haven’t tried all the plexi amps out there but till date my no 1 plexi amp is VHT/Fryette Deliverance 120.
Nailed it. :)
So you're saying you like the amp? Love it!
Really nice sounding Phillip!
Great playing Phil! And what an amp!
Sounds sick, love the customization as well!
Sounds great and the snakeskin look is 🤩
That sounds spectacular. Didn't catch what the price is, but amps today are so refined that it's making playing so inspiring. Absolutely spectacular. And, it's a smaller profile head too. That is ridiculously good tone.
sounds killer! lots of low end and substantial growl. Rock on sir!
Sounds great.
Man, look at you rockin' that SG, just loving it all - I'm going to have to sell my first born..
Great amp for that mid-gain thing. Love it.
Man that sounds great
shiiiiiiiiiiit this might be exactly what i've been looking for
wow incredible amp...great playing too Phil. I like the new licks. your continuing to get better and better. Be good
Man that edge of breakup clean sound is what it’s all about 💪🏼👍🏼
That’s one sweet amp that covers a lot of ground! Nice!
Gee the strat sounded amazing !!
Wow sounds amazing Phil 👏🏼👏🏼
What speaker(s)/Cabinet you using Phil?
My GAWD did that Strat sound awesome clean!
Sounds real nice 👍🏻
Man....that's sound killer. Love it

Sweet jeebus that sounds freaking amazing.
That sounds freaking amazing. I'd say that amp could be the tone chasing killer!
I want one!! 🎈
Ooo…Sounded like Black Sabbath & a Laney Amp when you pegged the gain! Really gnarly!
WOW 😳 JUST WOW !!!
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen you look happier playing an amp!
