Hi! I was thinking of buying the CT-S200 but found this a lot better. Though it's obviously more expensive but the sound it produces amazes me so much.
I am a beginner, do you think I would be a good choice to buy this?
61 tones is enough for a beginner I guess... I don't play on bands that use tones for gimmicks. I just want to play it myself and enjoy music during special occasions. Would you recommend this CT-S1? Or do you have other recommendations that suit my needs? Thanks.

More than bang for the buck, it’s bang, bang, banging, bang, bang, banging for the buck. Your review is excellent. I enjoy my red one. My very first keyboard I purchased in 1965 at a music store in San Francisco. It was a Farfisa combo. Then it was 600.00……I have bought and played many since. The CT-S1 is Awesome to say the least. Yes 1965 was not a typo.

It's a good value if you only intend to play and you're happy with the limited amount of tones (patches/voices) and unweighted keys are good enough. A good option for education purposes.
    Thanks for sharing.

Hey Jeremy, what is your favorite sustain pedal to take around with the CT-S1? Any good recommendation for one that doesn't feel cheap but also doesn't weigh too much?

  • @HubertEtAlice
    @HubertEtAlice 3 года назад +8

Hi Jeremy nice demonstration as usual. Thanks for doing a showcase of some of the sounds found in the CT-S1 palette. I particularly liked the following (and wished I had them on my CT-X800): Classical Grand, Stage E. Piano, Amp 60’s E. Piano, Velo Organ, Amp Organ, Cathedral Organ, Tape Flute and Synth Brass.
If the CT-S1 (very cool looking with the guitar strap I must say 😎) has now become your portable keyboard of choice for Church meetings, what has become of your faithful Yamaha PSR S650?
The Bluetooth functionality is very welcome. It is a pity, though, that it is not included in the keyboard itself, such as the digital audio interface in the Yamaha PSR E373 and E453/453.
Looking forward to the next vid 👍

    • @JeremySee

I'm just here to thank you. I am an absolute beginner. And started my journey 7 months ago, with a Yamaha NP-12. But realized pretty quickly, that I needed to upgrade to 88 keys, for my goals. So based on your recommendation and my unfortunately rather tight budget, I picked up a Casio CDP-S 100. And I love it so far. So, thank you so much, for everything you do from a new subscriber. This may be a good beginner's keyboard for students and practice at home. Since I’m happy with my Casio CT-X 3000, I’m waiting for the Casio to make a more powerful and versatile, more comfortable keyboard, as the entire Casiotone series is more aimed at the younger population. The sounds are also not that bad considering the price.

Need 3- 4 watt speakers. I push down on piano key I get a sound touch response on this get nothing more velocity is required just another thing a beginner needs to master. My hitting on a flat sharp or any key really with pinky its weak sound if cross over with another finger its too loud. And not equal to white keys played in sequence. So unbalanced with volume between them. Don't matter soft regular or heavy. I have to admit it's with the CTX700 but suspect same with this gonna keep trying to learn on my old CT-625

Go for korg or start with casio s1 and once i get good enough then go for something much better than korg liano. Or just getting a korg liano would be sufficient till long time. Will be just playing for myself and maybe with friends while chilling.

Jeremy…I watched several of your videos excellent videos that lead me to the purchase of a Casio Ct-S1. It arrived yesterday, and though I have no clue what I’m doing, coming from a stringer instrument and hand percussion background, the keyboard is already feeling inspiring. And, I can tell, one day I’ll need a full size keyboard with weighted keys. For now, this is a hoot! I am starting to learn piano and quite enjoying the tactility, sound quality, and simple interface of this keyboard, only having my hands on friend’s keyboards for moments at a time through the years, plus that toy electric organ I had when wee. I am curious about acquiring the bluetooth dongle. Do you think that would allow me to bring audio from the CT-S1 into my iPad Pro and the MultitrackDAW app? Or, do I need an adapter from the 1/8” headphone out to split the stereo signal into 1/4” outputs? Here was my first noodle on the Ct-S1 after unboxing. Thanks kindly for your sharing your insights! ruclips.net/video/6-AJONzQwzE/видео.html

Question about vocal mics and the ct-s1. With the right connectors, could you connect a mic to the ct-s1 speakers? Or even a pre amp to control the mic?

Nice review Jeremy, you have me hooked on this one. I saw you play Gymnopedie, did you transpose or something to play the lower notes which are more than two octaves below middle C.

Yup, you'll have to transpose for Gymnopedie.

When are we gonna have rechargeable keyboards? Why still use AA batteries? If Bose and JBL came up with rechargeable PA systems, why can't Yamaha or Casio make a rechargeable keyboard? Also how about a wireless sustain pedal?
