Anthony, thanks for the clear and concise explanation of the tools you used to remove the garbage can, but most of all for the reasoning behind your actions. It would be great if you could include a copy of the image you are using so that we can follow along. I find I learn much more when I am doing it myself rather than just watching a video. And yes, a video on the pen tool would be great.
Thank you for showing the select and mask to adjust the edge. I had no idea that the capacity was there. Just so much to learn in the application of these tools in photoshop and lightroom. I would only use content-aware and it would not have been able to handle this situation. You have broadened my horizon looking out over the beach. Heck yes do the pen tool
To eliminate the "ghost" of the removed can, I clone things like this in reverse of what you've done. Instead of selecting the can, select the ladder and create a layer with the selection. Place this layer above your image and then you can clone freely without the need to correct "ghosting" This also allows you to be very loose and free when cloning next to a difficult area.
Yet another yes for the pen tool. And thanks for a great lesson, Anthony. I will repeat this lesson on my iPad while I go through the steps on my MacBook on a similar object removal task with one of my own images.... pausing your video as I go!
Phlearn had a great video on the pen tool, but would love to have you do one as well as the process of using the pen was covered pretty well, but what to do after the pen is used to select and utilize the result was not well covered. Thanks
Since I use the brushtool, but never the pen, yes please present a video on this item. Compliments and chapeau to your indurance presentig reperiodically good videos!
Thank you for the creative overview but just wondering why you wouldn't use content-aware fill - delete trash can and have content aware fully replace it. I would be curious to see both techniques side by side to compare.
Thanks you, yes please do a video on the pen tool, also I wish you would add more PS videos, your LR videos are plentiful and great. Your style and technique make learning PS/LR easier.
Thanks for the information. Please request you to make a video on cutting a subject from a busy background and replace the background. Please tech Pen tool also. Thank you.
when i select i normaly use the back space it opens a abox just say oke and it removes the selected object in the box you have to select the content aware option for the stairs i use the polygonal lasso tool and te clone stamp tool to fix the adges of the stair i go to image select thet of the stair i want to fix and press on inverse to fix out side or insidee off the area with the clone stamp tool
When I tried using the clone stamp tool it only let me target what was outlined as well and would not clone if I selected anything outside of it to target.
Where is the shadow of the garbage can? Is that picture a composite? It looks like the can it's missing a bit on the right side were the sand merges with the water.
Something fishy here!? The garbage can is not on the original photo? Inserted in the photo? You can clearly see the can does not line up behind the ladder.
