Thanks …While we very much appreciate the compliment , Kenya 🇰🇪 is in no shape or form like a North American city. It’s a beautiful African city charting its own course 🙌🏾🇰🇪
Why don’t you make a visit and see for yourself. We might have our issues that face all cultures. Let’s just brag President Barack Obama the first black President went to Kenya and acknowledged that M-Pesa App was the fastest money transfer and we have the best internet. Eat your heart.
@@gavinmcleod7446 American mall are the worst in terms of design in the world. Kenyan standard include children play areas, the other is greenery in and outside the malls. That is why Nairobi is soo green. Which Mall in America has a Go-cart space. and a river within a mall. and many more.
Kenyans please don't leave without subscribing this guy is really promoting our country in a good way. We also own some of the tallest buildings in NewYork and Miami.
Let me start by bashing ourselves first... no Kenyan has ever made such an impressive showcase of Nairobi. Now back to you, bro. Thanks for such an amazing, well captured video. And yes , you earned my subscription. 🎉😊😊😊
I've heard from Americans I've worked with that the CBD has a Ney York vibe, have heard from an Australian, that the View Point area has an Australian vibe, the Brits and Scots also about the country side.....I think there's a little bit of every country in Kenya😂
There are a few similarities in the conviniences but Nairobi has a unique vibe that can't be found anywhere else . I grew up 5 mins walk from village market and I have now lived in the U.S for over 25 years.
I lived there as a refugee many years ago when i was a kid. My relatives pretty much forced me to seek resettlement in the US but i really wanted to stay in Nairobi. My friends and i used to call it the London of Africa. I really miss Kenya as a whole 😢
Thank you for the great video of nairobi ,show the world Africa they do not know but Nairobi is an African city by it's own african or kenyan standards ,culture and ways.....
My all time favorite. I think it has the best greenery, it's homely and it's also the most welcoming mall in Nairobi. Since it was built it keeps on getting better every time. The expansions over the years were well planned. At least they never destroyed the original idea.
Thank you for the compliment although Nairobi has some catching up to do especially the infrastructure, well some buildings like Britam towers, UAP building and King prism tower which looks like Hearst Building in New York.
I think you've had experience of hakuna matata,no communication problem,no traveling problem,no security problem,no discrimination,we are socially good and hospitality is in our veins
Village Market is my favorite mall in Nairobi. There are other, much bigger malls here, but Village Market feels very "homey" to me. My other favorites are Westgate & Sarit (Although Sarit is a bit of a maze and I've gotten lost a few times- but I love the rooftop food court area 😂)
I think Village Market is the prettiest, with the most eclectic stores and boutiques. Two Rivers is quite massive and offers a few outdoor activities especially for kids, like go karting, ferris wheel etc so that's a fun one too.
As a Kenyan, I agree that The Village Market and Westgate Mall are the nicest shopping malls in Kenya. Two Rivers and BBS malls are much bigger but not as slick.
Development is not measured by malls. Development is measured by how many skilled workers and how many scientists per million of the population, by the structure of the economy, by the composition of goods and services which are produced in the economy, by the diversity of local supply chains from raw materials to finished goods, the quality of infrastructure such as roads, railways, electricity, telecommunication services, water and sewerage services, quality of housing, the quality of health care services.
You can't blame them though, it's the western media that tends to portray African countries in a negative light, Thanks to RUclips their perception of African countries is changing.
You missed out on the best Espresso coffee at Java. My special Espresso coffee is at Java Kimathi Street right opposite Nation Center, it's a beautiful aromatic blend
Beauty aside, the food in Nairobi is to die for! You can probably get a cuisine from any part of the world in Nairobi. I am getting ready to return home and retire in Mombasa, Indian Ocean City shortly, I love the cashless city, no need to carry cash!
@@WorldJunkie the song is kidani by ben pol, this is a acoustic cover, @world jukie please share the link where you got the song from. Lets promote our own
First thanks for your love... Kenya is still 3rd world which by Gods grace will skip 2nd world straight to 1st world... But you made it seem very very developed... But no its not north American if anything Kenya has got lot of British influence although its changing into it's own thing
It's funny there's a huge focus on Nairobi and perhaps Mombasa. Trust me, the whole of Kenya from the cities to the County HQs are beautiful and on another level. 80% of the roads are dope and Counties are outdoing each other with "the best xyz". Visit Kisumu, any county or Kericho and you might think otherwise about what you thought you knew. I said trust me. Karibu.
Hello. I have been to many cities in US. New York is not what is hyped to be and don't use it as a yard stick. So sir Nairobi has some better things to showcase than some cities in US, real fact. Thanks.
I'm glad you seem to like Nairobi. I'm in Boston. I like Montreal (in addition to Nairobi). I normally take a bus from Boston to Montreal. The Mont-Royal neighborhood is my favorite. Wouldn't it have been a riot if you had seen a Second Cup coffee shop in a Kenyan mall? Nairobi needs one! By the way, who's the Kenyan musician in your video? Is it an original song by him? I like it.
@usa_kenyan Why would Nbi need to have that 2nd class coffee house, the Second Cup? Why not Starbucks? Starbucks sources their coffee from Kenya afterall.
@@raandit471 When I'm in Montreal it's the coffee shop I visit in that neighborhood. I like it. I actually prefer it over Starbucks. Maybe it's because I'm too used to Starbucks. You apparently don't like Second Cup. That's okay. 😃
Its true, I understand why you are saying that. I noticed construction similarities between some nairobi malls n some in *north New jersey, big D..lone star state, Vancouver n Montreal* .... probably the designers got such inspirations...n we know the guy that used to own twin towers was connected to west gate.....
Was there 8 months ago. Two rivers was great. Rode the Ferris wheel at night. As far as being like North American city. It’s similar I agree. But as like most cities in most countries it has very nice sometimes elite areas and then very poor slum areas as well. Homeless people sleeping in fields that was told never to go around. Maybe you didn’t experience the Mzungo tax there as I did. Not everywhere. But enough. Encountered some very rude street people downtown Nairobi. But again. That’s any big city you go to. There are small areas that are very clean but my impression was most was dirty compared NA. Anyway. Glad you’re having a great experience. I did as well. My advice is get out into the rural areas more. See how the majority of Kenyans live.

North America is not the standard, we set our own standards
And who builds your malls? You wouldn’t have that infrastructure without the Chinese and Westerners over- seeing and implementation .
Facts. That title makes it look like we're trying to be like the west
Which standard every thing is borrowed
Westerners and Chinese are the Architects of these malls… what standards are you on about.

nobody talks about how clean the streets are
Because they are dirty compared to most developed and rising economies. What percentage of Nairobi is clean really?
Kenya has world records breaker atheletes so it's cool to have those sports brands
Yeah exactly

I have a friend called Samira, who lives in the US but visits Kenya regularly. You can also visit occasionally.
Village market is slick plus it has almost every outlet in it,,,, Two Rivers is just big in size and beautiful but minimal outlets to showcase

Great job, trying to capture the elements of these Malls. It's a job in itself. Thanks for representing a bit of Kenya to the world.
