I was at Heron's yesterday afternoon and overheard Peter calling to a colleague; "Has everyone left now?". From what I gather he was keen to film yet another you tube video. Well I'm very glad he is able to share his wealth of knowledge and passion through the medium of youtube. Appreciated as always!
I hope you didnt think I was rude. I was indeed waiting to film another RUclips video of neglected customer's trees. Hope you enjoyed your visit though.
I'm Jealous that you got to see all this in person... Would have loved to be able to meet Master Chan and thank him in person for the wonderful videos.
Thank you for that lovely video Peter. Just beautiful, beautiful. Keep the videos coming. They are educational, and inspirational. Absolutely wonderful!
Love the trees. But could you do a video on how to prune, repot and style an azalea tree. And most of all how to care for them please. Love the channel.
Perfect timing! I have friend who went to a show in Tokyo earlier this month and posted pictures and I've become obsessed with the idea of azalea bonsai! These are absolutely breath taking and I look forward to cultivating some.
Thank you Peter, I have 3 dwarf azaleas and one I call Venus, the trunk and nebari looks like a beautiful woman with one leg out and her arms holding up the beautiful flowers. Looking forward to seeing them develop.
Thank you for your fantastic videos. I just found your channel, because my husband bought me a bonsai for our anniversary. Unfortunately I do not know how to care for it,but I'm trying to learn. Thank you for your knowledge.
I actually just picked some more up. Gonna start some cuttings then field grow them to get them shape I want and then years from now I’ll have some really nice ones lol
I don't know how you have time to work on all these trees ! So nice, I have a Suzuki but it in the ground and never blooms, but give me many cuttings! Did you know in heaven you can work on bonsai ?
How amazing. I purchased an azalea last week to turn into a bonsai and it is about to flower. Can I repot it before it flowers? I am in a winter in a sub tropical area and have no idea when to do it. Our low temp at the moment is about 10 degrees Celsius. Our days are about 24 degrees.
I would swim the atlantic ocean twice for a single twig from that amazing looking one thats deep purple magenta looking, its so bright and vibrant that it renders wrongly on my monitor.
Would like to report, one of my trees I potted in sphagnum moss is showing signs of recuperation! One died for sure and the other is too early too tell. But I appreciate your great knowledge!
thank you for your videos , and awesome knowledge of beautiful plants. I live in lower mainland British Columbia, Canada, we have lots of azaleas, what are the big difference between satsuki and japonica azalea? again your videos are great, and thank you for sharing your knowledge, take care
Makes me want to dig up my sad azalea that hasn't been doing well in the ground for the last 3 years and stick it in a pot to see what happens. Perhaps I can transform it into a happier bonsai.
@@mcblahflooper94 to be honest I was lazy and left it where it was. This year it has really thrived in the ground, which is odd. I did nothing to improve the situation.
hello, great video on the azalee, it will be really that you make another video on the size of satsuki, it will be really a good thing for all fans, do you think it's a prichainement on the size of the azalee? good continuation
Im in the northern part of the United States, our winters get cold (-10 degrees Fahrenheit this morning) all of my trees right now are native to my location and go dormant in the winter. Would a Satsuki be something that i could bring inside and provide with a grow light similar to tropical bonsai, or do they need something more specific in the winter?
Hope my satsuki chopstick-sized air-layers root 🤞 I started them in October... will cut off, check and re-pot in a few weeks (3 months total). Then, I will try to train them into “whips” like in Japan - single-trunk informal-upright (instead of its’ basally-dominant multi-trunk bushy growth)
Very very beautiful collection of azelia plants, I have got some of these varieties of azelia plants but they never bloom . what could be the reason? I'm from sri lanka. N. SIDDIQUE
I've never seen how these Azalea are trained in Japan. I'm guessing that the trunks are wired when the trunks are young and thin. Then thickened in the ground.
sorry for the random question but i was wondering if a Japanese maple or a satsuki azalea could grow in hardiness zone 10 because I really want one but i do not know if it will grow
I'm from kalimpong, west bengal India and my place is renowned for cinchona & azaleas...and I'm sure satsuki wud thrive here so how can I buy them? Please help 🙏
I have alot of azaleas on my property cut into large bonsai trees. They are great looking but extremely weak. They flower every year but they just have a weak root system.

Azaléia..no poder o sol quente calor ...só junho julho Flôres tem 👍
紅葉 _kôyô_ stands for the red autumn colours in Japanese, so I guess you're right about the name of those red azaleas :)
Azaleas are my favorite
a feast for the eyes

I did it to mine. It has a huge root base. I'm happy I did it.
PS I have heard you have to be very careful how you cut off large limbs.
Did it work well? Peter recommends healing trees in a pot of full sphagnum moss

How to make them blooming like crazy??
Top .
Are azaleas fed the same as other plants?

That's how I do them here in the U.K I also establish nebari early on.
So nice 🌹
How do we prepare an Azalea for a super-thick style trunk?
Əladır.!!! Çox gözəldir!!!!
Can i buy one?

So you have an Osakazuki? I got. one, and she wont make some flowers..:/ last year and this year, no flower..:(

Nice
How long does it take for an Azalea to grow a thicker trunk?
Many many years -20 may be - but in Japan where they have hot summers,, Azaleas grow and thicken very fast.
Who the hell takes the thumb down?
People who don't like beauty I guess

Sigh... too bad you can't ship trees to Canada. Unfortunately there is no source of Satsuki azaleas here in Canada. I would love to obtain one. Sigh
Try to get seeds...
