For the first time in India, two former classmates are leading the Army and Navy forces. Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, who took over as Army Chief on June 30, and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi studied together in school in Madhya Pradesh state. Admiral Tripathi took charge as Navy chief on May 1.

This is a wonderful accomplishment for friends who were classmates in that their dream goals came to reality in a spectacular and rare occurrence. Now they are even more bonded to the fraternity of the top hierarchy of the Indians armed forces in a brotherhood that will promote a friends for life opportunity for these two aspiring and dedicated men.
