    Amazing, amazing video!!! Beautiful bird! We have ruffed grouse here in Ontario Canada. They're frightening because they fly up out of a pile of dried leaves and startle if someone is walking through the woods. Please, please make and post more of these kinds of videos, this is just great to watch!!!!

    They're called capercaillie or wood grouse. Popular hunting game in the nordic countries and Russia.

    Yes, this is well-known fact. The eastern subspecies of Tetrao urogallus have not the cork sound. Unlike the west-european subspecies. By this reason in 19th century russian hunters didn't understand german books about leks hunt.

      From what I understood, they use that 3rd vocal only when they found a target.
