In olden days that pillar was hanging and when Britisher tried to remove one side of the pillar got settled . Its all interconnected engineering technology. To show that it is hanging they ask to pass cloth thats all. There is no wish fulfilling scean as such why u north Indians give somucj wrong information.

The whole country is a crucible of mysteries and there are numerous places throughout its stretch that awakens the curiosity in us, like Bhangarh Fort, Puri Temple and places in the North-East as well. Nobody has the answer to such happenings and that's probably the beauty of it.
I had been to Kuldhara Village back in 2018,not sure whether it is haunted or not but the place is pin drop silent and that's very eerie. The air of that place is so different that you're bound to feel the presence of something.
The Ellora as per history has been built over a span of many hundred years by dynasties like the Rashtrakutas, Yadavas and the Kailashnath Temple is the main attraction of it.
Diversity is one of the reasons why Indian architecture is so rich and mysterious!

Sir Ellora construction is generally attributed to the Rashtrakuta king Krishna I (r. 756-773 CE).Hanging Pillar at Lepakshi One popular myth says that it was constructed deliberately this way to highlight the intelligent craftsmanship of the artisans of that era.Ellora and Lepakshi temples were built by South Kinga Rastrakutas and Krishnadevaraya respectively.

The question is not "who" built it or when build it... Question is "how" and more than that "why"...
"How" was such massive excavation from top to bottom of a huge monolith rock done with primitive hand tools and "how" was such massive shape given from top to bottom with so much precision like that of computer aided architecture blueprint plans.
For the pillar one, one can understand that a pillar is hanging coz others are giving support and (obviously) removing it won't cause any problem coz it is not touching ground, hence not giving support, but if it's not giving support then why removing it compromised the structural integrity of the temple's ceiling?

i visited kuldhara in early January 2023,and there is actually a proper story to it, there are only a few people around the place Who tell the story of the place. There is a man outside the gates who sits there everyday and tells everyone the story of kuldhara ,the story is =
there used to be a governor of the area who had fallen in love with a woman in the village.he had decided to marry her.
But the woman was the daughter of the village chief who was a Brahman. it was outrages according to him that a man of a lower caste wanted to marry his daughter. He straight up told the governor that this is not possible. The governor on the other hand was seriously offended.he then ordered his men to go to the village and kill everyone in it.
But the news had already reached the villagers who left everything and ran away.
That is the actual story of kuldhara.
