I think a more accurate phrase (that phrase isn't wrong but this is also something that should apply) is "Don't assume your heroes are nice". There's nothing wrong with meeting your heroes, but what's wrong is assuming your heroes are nice people without knowing much about their personal life. Meggy clearly assumed Wren was always a good guy at heart even though she knew little about him which is where the unhealthiness of her obsession comes into play. Also, One Shot Wren is a very interesting villain too. One thing I like is that while his backstory did make me feel some sorrow for him, It's still clear that his backstory doesn't excuse any of his actions. Looking at the flashbacks, he seemed to be a nice guy and was probably hanging with the wrong people (Not saying those excuse Wren's actions, but prior to being recruited by the tv, he didn't seem that heinous). The TV seemed to only make things worse as it was basically waving a bag of cocaine at him knowing that the machine would clearly not fix Wren's problems. It's clear the TV could have actually helped Wren become a better person, but chose to instead let him indulge in his ego by having him live in a fantasy world where he's always number one. One Shot Wren kinda reminds me a lot of some of the older arc villains. His backstory reminds me of Bob's fame and how he lost it during the rapper Bob arc, his backstory and turn to villainy (along with his actions) reminded me a lot of Niles, his hatred over being rejected is similar to Waluigi, and his actions of torturing the gang and working for a higher power are similar to Lawyer Kong. Speaking of which, Wren seems to be a foil to Lawyer Kong in so many ways. Both were minor characters that made appearances in the past before getting major roles in their movies. However, Lawyer Kong as Funky Kong never had any significance prior to the Lawsuit Arc while Wren was the person who inspired Meggy to try to become a Splatfest champ. Both have the abilities to psychologically torture their victims, but whereas Lawyer Kong uses firewalls and DMCAs, Wren uses a lotus eater machine to brainwash the gang. Both work for and given their abilities by a high power who also contrast in their own right (Nintendo and Miyamoto made it clear who they were with the latter being a reasonable authority figure at worst and having a major presence. Wren's suppliers are still an enigma with their goals being unknown and having a more subtle presence). Lawyer Kong had a major presence in the Lawsuit Arc, using every opportunity he could to boast about his power and mocks the heroes as much as he could. Wren also had a major presence, but unlike Lawyer Kong, he's more subtle about it, simply manipulating things from the sidelines and not revealing his true colors until halfway in Western spaghetti. Their defeats also play in a similar yet different way as both accept their defeats with different outcomes. Lawyer Kong simply retires from the lawsuit business and makes peace with the gang while Wren refuses to let go of the past which results in him dying alone
btw Tari just got her redesign during the episode "SMG4: Grand Theft Mario", before the events of Western Spaghetti started (specifically "We Interrupt This Broadcast")
I couldn't tell if Wren was cheating his wins for pride or deliberately trying to mentally breakdown Meggy. That guy is a clear-cut case of an athlete losing his stride with nothing else in his life. If he really knew Meggy, he'd have known what the others could do, too
What a very YEE HAW movie where NOTHING. SCARY. HAPPENED. I'm sure lol. As everyone says, yes Tari got a redesign after all the SMG4 originals did in "Grand Theft Mario." Her new look is 10/10. As to why everyone ate raw potatoes in the simuation....maybe Wren liked potatoes lol.
After all of this, I can say that Meggy needs therapy. I mean, getting killed repeatedly for a month? That can’t be healthy for anyone to endure, nor should they be able to come out without any trauma at all Then again, I haven’t experienced getting shot and killed on repeat, so I don’t know.
Having watched Groundhog Day, I can agree with that. Although, Meggy has been through a lot of traumatic chaos before; the inkling abductions, monster encounters, Mario's daily habits,...
@@mechasaurus Desti dying... Meggy reminds me of those kids/teens who need therapy but never gets it, which causes problems later in life Aka, Meggy acting out in the videos these days
Tari showed us how selfless and fantastic she is, when she made the digital ether all on her own, she made Meggy moved for the help she gave her to save her from the time loop, she is the luckiest person in the world to have a friend like her... 💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I'm crying in real life for the emotion of the friendship of Tari and Meggy, I've never cried so much in my entire life, I really want a friend like Tari😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
OneShot Wren is a good reason why you should never meet your heroes.
I agree with you
1. I agree
2. I don’t have anything clever to say about him being a villain and why he’s good at it
Im mean not never
True

Sometimes never meet your heroes… but sometimes their pride is their downfall.
The music really did it for me, and the story really was amazing. Hit hard when wren and meggy had that one little moment
Its Shocking to See Desti and Axol at the same Time like OMFG 😱😱😱
fun fact the guy who voiced one shot wren was one of the voice actors from legend of zelda tears of the kingdom
sorry if i said it twice
wait really? thats actually insane
One Shot Wren isn't new.
He appeared in Mario Babies
This is the first time he appeared that wasn't a flashback or a video though
I couldn't tell if Wren was cheating his wins for pride or deliberately trying to mentally breakdown Meggy. That guy is a clear-cut case of an athlete losing his stride with nothing else in his life. If he really knew Meggy, he'd have known what the others could do, too
He rigged the game from the start. Tari saw right through the simulation. Wren was no match for Tari's meta runner experiences.
WoTFI 2023 ready coming soon
Did you notice? Once again trouble was brought by a little TV icon.

Amazing reaction cyril
We can not lie that "I've got an eternity to teach you anyway" is the most BADASS line a villain has said in SMG4 history (in my honest opinion)
After all of this, I can say that Meggy needs therapy.
