If you ever have a slice of bread and a cup of milk, you can make a white gravy. It's simple, heat your fat, any kind, and add a cup of milk while the milk is heating up shread and crumble the bread into crumbs as small as possible. Put the bread crumbs in the milk mixture and whisk in and continue stiring until the gravy smooths out. Salt and pepper to taste. It is quite easy. If you want a meat flavored gravy, you can use part broth and part water. For each slice of bread, you need about a table spoon of fat and a cup of liquid. If the gravy gets too thick, i just add more liquid.
We call it Milk Gravy in my Southern state, and Brits call it Bread Sauce. It's really good! I add a tiny bit of garlic powder to mine and white instead of black pepper for extra flavor.
While watching this I started to wish we did celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK. It would certainly brighten up those dull and miserable November days when the weather is so depressing.
I made your pumpkin parfait - of course, I had to try one to make sure it was "safe" for my family to eat 😆 🤣 😂. 10 out of 10! Thanks for your inspiration!!!
your not alone in making these dollar tree dinners here ! with food being sky high people are getting creative on the cheap here ! especially the poor !
Lisa you should be very proud of yourself- you are a very good teacher and an excellent, instinctive cook! There is not one thing the matter with the meal you showed us today. All of your recipes can be made with less processed ingredients (if someone is blessed enough to have access to them) but inventing all this with a limited budget from a limited food source is truly a talent! Thank you!
Heck yeah, friend! I love making it like on the box, but adding cream cheese, sour cream, Rotel and taco meat kicks it up so many notches! Velveeta forever 😂🫶🏻
If anyone lives in the Midwest & has a Meijer grocery store can get all the Thanksgiving fixings for about $25. I got a whole turkey, stuff for green bean casserole (includes crispy onions), mashed potatoes & gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, a pumpkin pie & whipped topping all for $25.19.
Thank you for sharing this great information. That's a very good price for all of those items. Know that you're helping out so many, by posting this here. 💕. KimInOhio.
Lots of stores are doing the same, some are around $20 for a dinner. I got a free turkey at Wei’s, Giant has them too. Walmart is selling canned vegetables for 50 cents. I also got a 5 pound bag of potatoes for $1.99. Definitely better than Dollar Tree food. The only reason I can see doing a DT dinner is if you don’t have access to a regular grocery store
Yes, I have access to Meijers and got everything for about 25 dollars. A 12 lb. Turkey for under 5 dollars was a steal at 34 cents a pound. I'll have plenty of leftover turkey for soup and sandwiches.
Thanks for another Thanksgiving Dollar Tree Adventure! I personally love these because as a family 2 we don’t need a full traditional meal with leftovers for weeks. These give me ideas to have the flavors of the holidays with some leftovers but not too many.
That all looks so delicious! This is also the best dollar tree video from my perspective. Thank you!!!❤ I love that statement that everyone deserves to eat and struggling is not a moral failing. ❤❤❤
I’ve been following along with your Dollar Tree Thanksgiving videos since the beginning! I love how comforting you are to watch. Keep up the amazing work!
Please remember to let people know about 211. You just call 211 and give your zip code and you get connected to your local agency for ANY kind of help you need.
The actual OG of thanksgiving dinners from DT! I’m here for it……we don’t celebrate thanksgiving or have a DT here in the UK but I’m committed to your channel ❤️🇬🇧
Nice job, I like that Aldi has a 40 something dollar deal for thanksgiving, probably out of the dollar tree budget but a good option for some! I grabbed their hams last year after easter and they were great. wasn't sure which direction you were going with the canned turkey but looks like it came out great with the stuffing and sausage mixture. Gravy looks tasty.
That why I love your videos you make great recipes!! it’s amazing how many places in America where cities just have a dollar general or dollar tree for groceries.
I just love your fearless approach to tweaking recipes! It is always a fun learning journey when I watch your professionally presented recipes and steps! Hats off to Lisa👏🏻👏🏻🌷
I was so happy to see this video!!! I adore your videos & creativity, Lisa!👏🏻🍽😋❤️ Happy Thanksgiving to you & your sweet family!🦃🧡 Stay happy, healthy & blessed!🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Hi Lisa, Your videos for Thanksgiving and Christmas using Dollar Tree are my absolute favourite! You are so creative in how you combine ingredients to make masterpieces on a budget amaze me and spark fresh ideas in my brain! Keep em coming! 😻
We had ham this year but the last couple previous, I had the bright idea to fake turkey and dressing with a Walmart rotisserie chicken, picked apart and put in the dish, stove top stuffing with egg & celery included, and 2 packets of turkey gravy. That gravy is turkey flavored enough nobody knew they were eating a rotisserie chicken. Spent about 20 bucks for 4 people instead of 20 bucks on a turkey lol Thanksgiving 4 people Walmart Rotisserie chicken - $8 Walmart mini pies 50c ea x 4 -- $2 Turkey gravy x2 - 80c Dollar Tree Stove top - $1.25 Mashed potatoes - $1.25 Cranberry - $1.25
I had to come back to this video to thank you for the green bean casserole recipe. My middle child hates cream of mushroom and he would have never eaten that dish. He devoured yours. Thank you for helping me feed hungry bellies this holiday.
Im a huge fan of green bean casserole. I even make it "just because" throughout the year. I have to admit though that it can be a bit of a boring side dish. After seeing how you make yours... I'm definitely breaking tradition and making it like that this year. Looks super yummy!! ❤
Lisa, I am new at your channel, but I love watching your videos. You are a very nice, kind, creative person and also a great cook. Greetings from Poland😘
Love this!! I used to be a regular dollar tree shopper and have had those jalapeños. They are so good! The reason I used to shop there was I could get healthy choice soup for a dollar a can which is about 275 at the grocery store and that’s what I used to eat for lunch so I saved a lot of money on that and then I buy all my spices There because they are the cheapest as well as gift wrap and greeting cards. A lot of things there are better deals than anywhere else. Thanks so much for helping us budget conscious shoppers. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. 🌈👱♀️🦃
I have been following your content for a while now and I must say there is something about the way you enjoy cooking that capture my full attention on every video.
I really enjoyed this!!! Your voice is sooo comforting and it’s so impressive being able to make food from scratch from the dollar tree?! looks super good
What I REALLY like about your videos is the actual cooking techniques you utilize. Seems like once a person learns these techniques they can become the creative cook that you are. Thanks! I've learned a lot. Happy Thanksgiving :)
Can I just say, Lisa Dawn: I love you & your family so much! I look forward to your videos so much, especially your holiday meals. Thank you so much for sharing these with us!
I never understand why people question someone using a convenience store for their primary groceries. In this case, the dollar tree that yes can be more expensive in some cases. Obviously if you only have $20 to spend you’re able to get small quantities at the dollar tree And create your meal. A person who has less money can’t go and buy at a grocery at larger quantities. they don’t have the extra money to do that even though per ounce, the goods at the regular grocery store are probably cheaper. It’s the same thing as not shopping, a warehouse store like Costco because you don’t have the $500 to invest to really take advantage of the discount per ounce. I say $500 as an example. However, you do need a much larger amount of money to really purchase a variety. Simple. I think it’s great that you put these ideas up for people that want to have interesting meals from the dollar tree.
😂😂😂"White person spicy." Too funny! You both are two of my favorite RUclips couples. I love your cooking ideas. I truly enjoy everything about your channel. ❤❤
Once gain Lisa comes back with an awesome dinner for Thanksgiving. This was fabulous and I can't wait to try some of these for myself this year. I recently moved to a town with large Dollar Tree and I'm hoping I can find the same ingredients and try it for myself. Thank you girl! You rock!
Hi Lisa. Always looking forward to your videos, thank you. If we do not hear from you before thanksgiving, from my family to yours, may you have a very Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁🍽 and may you enjoy the surroundings of your family & friends throughout the holiday. Looking forward to many more videos to come 🦃🍁🙏🏼🍽🫶🏻 🥂cheers
Yeah, I've been watching your videos since the beginning, and this definitely looks like the best Thanksgiving Dollar Tree spread you've done so far. Looking forward to the Christmas edition for 2024! Keep up the good work!!!
It's just not Thanksgiving without Lisa's "Dollar Tree Thanksgiving" videos!
I feel the same way lol 😁
Agreed❤ Although my thanksgiving was last month …I love ideas for your Christmas Eve buffet ❤
I have learned so much from her over the years. She is such a brave, adventurous, competent cook.
carolwood is so right!!
I agree.
Really appreciate your efforts to help folks find a way in reduced circumstances! Thank you

Add some bacon fat, saute onions and garlic. Make a rouge add a meat or veg brown. It's better season to taste😊
Being English I don’t even celebrate Thanksgiving but I always really enjoy these yearly videos.

Lisa, you are such a genius. Never seen anyone do so much with so little. Love watching to see what you do next.
I heartily agree

I don't care what anybody says, I love Velveeta and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
My kind of people! 💙💙💙

Velveeta forever 😂🫶🏻
@@getoffmydarnlawn Me too. I always have it in the refrigerator. Velveeta. is one of my staples.
It makes the best grilled cheese! 🥰
The random sudden hate for Velveeta cheese has to stop. It's not even bad lmao

I use cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom soup when I make it , cos I'm not a fan of mushrooms
Thank you Lisa!! I love everything about this!
All of it looked absolutely delicious!!
You come up with some of the best recipes that are so inexpensive. My mouth was watering! Thanks Lisa. Happy Thanksgiving! Love from Texas ❤

I love your thanksgiving videos. I look forward to thwm just as much as hearing Alice's restaurant on the radio. Hope you have a great holiday. ✌️
In a pinch (or convenience while making biscuits and gravy) I will just a use a tablespoon of biscuit mix instead of flour for a roux!
