I love how it builds. It starts with a simple piano, played with one hand. And then breaks. And every time it comes back it has another element added to it, building and building in richness.
+abdelmoughit khiri you can tell if the only piano part being played is without chords. this entire thing was played with two though. the right plays the melody, the left plays the chords you hear, which is played I believe are two octaves lower on the piano than the melody.

Game of Thrones finally reached that transcendant moment again (like with the red wedding) where it creates a feeling you've never felt in a tv show before. This was one of those moments for me, and it's mostly thanks to this composition.
I agree, the editing, the tension building during the scene of the scept of balor, along with the music made the whole moment a scene of anthology for the ages.

«There’s something wrong. Cersei is not here, Tommen is not here. Why do you think they’re not here?» At that line, Margaery understood that something bad is happening, we all did.
@@dirthamen5323 It was not stellar but definitely not worthy of a 4 out of 10 rating. IMDB ratings are quite often driven by emotion instead of reason. From season 8 I think the 3rd episode stands out and although the ending was somewhat bittersweet the ratings are way too low.
This is just amazing. The show tends to connect soundtracks with specific, big events. So the moment it started, you knew something big was gonna happen. Also, I think it's the first time they use piano in a GOT soundtrack. A bit irrelevant to the ages at hand, but nonetheless amazing.
Same here! When the piano started, the first thought that popped into my mind was: "Wait.. this doesn't sound like GoT at all.. weird." But then, as the scenes and the music progressed, I realised I was listening to the greatest musical piece in GoT.
+vaalliii same here, I heard the piano, and was like, wait... something is not right... is this even GoT? And it proggressed, and I was like holy shit something is not right here, OH DAMN RIGHT THIS HAS PIANO THIS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN???
I read that they wanted to use piano and make it sound different so people wouldn't connect it with any of the characters and wouldn't be able to guess what was going to happen. Really, a brilliant move and excellent use of music to reinforce and enhance the visual experience.
I play this too endlessly, but think about love or motivation when listening to this, somehow the music of this is beyond the GOT scene of Cersei for me.

I think this episode was maybe the best. So beautiful filmed. And this music....... just stunning. I've rewatched this episode several times. Just because of the music. Wonderful masterpiece, isn't it?!
This is probably the most haunting soundtrack I've ever heard. It genuinely creeps me out at some points, and music has never been able to do that to me before. Kudos to the composer for this brilliantly written piece of art, that conveys the mood of the scene it accompanies, perfectly.
Man, I wish the series ended as unexpectedly as the scene was where this music was used. The last two seasons were just so uninspired, I miss the old seasons where GoT was intrigue and averting expectations.
I listen to “the night king” and forget “light of seven” .. then I come back , listen to the “light of 7” and forget “the night king” and then I repeat....
I looked this back up after hearing the epic Night King theme, and although the NK theme is incredible, I think over all the light of the seven has more substance.
This theme has a more religious tone to it, the organ pushing the "grand" feeling of a really destructive climax. More instruments for a more dynamic scene. The Night King's theme is simply despair, the emptiness of defeat and loss by a seemingly unstoppable enemy. Less instruments and more silence for the emotion. Both work incredibly well for each scene. Props to Ramin.
This whole thing is godly but after 8:23 with the under organ and the violins almost dragging the theme on and then escalating it fucking blow my mind. Such beautiful orchestry.
